Everyone in the country, including the so called experts that are close to the program (KSR), are all saying we spent 22 million on this roster, yet I keep reading some fan comments on this board say there is no way we spent 22 million on this roster. Did all these so called experts get together and decide to make this number up to report it? No one from UK is denying it. It is a silent camp on this number. It was stated again tonight on the KSR post game show that this is a 22 million roster. It is OK to admit we overpaid. Just like it is OK to admit that Pope is not ready for this job.

It just doesn't make sense given the numbers thrown around for the premier football programs, which is around $30 mil at the highest. Why have I not heard the numbers for any other program? How much did Duke and Uconn pay?
I have always found this to be the silliest argument:

All I know is that Duke has 6-7 5 stars, and I’ve not once heard what they spent. Same with numerous other loaded teams like Michigan, Arizona, Purdue. Never hear a word what they spent, but, somehow, someway, everyone wants to talk about what Kentucky spent. It’s amazing.
Kentucky leaked the 20+ million to combat the JMI issues and show we are able to pay lots of cash to field the a good team.
This is what tells me it’s probably accurate. If the number was way off, then somebody in position to know would’ve denied it. But not a single person associated with UK has denied anything about it.

Seems kind of stupid that Indiana fired Sampson for calling recruits during a dead period. Pearl gets a 5 year ban for hosting recruits for a barbecue during a dead period. Kentucky almost got the death penalty for “supposedly“ giving a recruits family $2500.

JMI sucks and has destroyed Kentucky basketball and that’s why they’ve got ONE SEC program and had to pay outrageous amounts just to get that. And they’ll never get another.
