Because his *** would be riding the bench.

I'm really glad Mullen is already stressing the importance of special teams, whereas Croom usually treated it as an afterthought.

I've been watching some Florida youtube of Harvin. The big secret - they put a hat on everybody and let Harvin beat the safety. The spread still starts up front.

Im as excited as the next guy about seeing some fun from the offensive side of the ball. But no matter what system we run, we've got to get back to the lines of Jackie's days that imposed their will on the defensive front. Tebow, Harvin, Rainey, Demps, etc. would look like **** if they played for us behind our line. The spread will not be an immediate remedy next year, but can work well with these skill guys we have coming in (Bumphis, Patterson, Thames, etc) IF we get some big uglies in here.

Just to throw out a couple of names that never made too much of a splash - Will Prosser and Tyler Threadgill. Tlyer was lightning fast, not big, but sure was fast; tougher than most people realized, too.

hmm... good question. I would definitely say Jerious because he could have been used in a variety of other ways. My 2nd choice would have to be Pegues simply because that guy is one of the biggest wasted talents I've seen in Mississippi State football history.

Tony Burks, but for sure Pegues. I was talking to someone today about how a guy as talented as Pegues was wasted under Croom. Pegues may get recruited by someone in the NFL, and he may have been injured most of this season, but for a player with as much athleticism and talent as he had to end the way it did is pitiful and pretty much unforgivable.

why we never used Tyler as a change of pace tailback.
Could be that when he did get in he couldn't hold on to the ball. I know he fumbled twice in one play on at least one occasion.

Because he wouldn't be sitting on the bench when the offense is out there and needed him on a couple of plays. How good would he have been in a wildcat formation? The answer is.. we will never know. Add that and Norwood wouldn't be running right up the gut on first and second down. also Burks and Connor would have had much better WR careers.
