I would love to get some athleticism in the LB or DB corps in round 1 and snag C. Patterson from UT in the second if he's still on the board.

Outside of the top 10, this draft is terrible. I would like the Saints to trade back into the 2nd and take the best available CB and standup DE available. I could care less who they are because they're better than anyone we currently have.

49ers

1. Trade up in 1st round to snag Kenny Vaccaro
2. Datone Jones or Jesse Williams
3. Cordarrelle Patterson

This draft is full of turds. This may be the worst draft talent wise I've seen EVER (ESPN is calling this a "deep" draft...which I guess means that you're going to get an equally bad player in the 1st round as you will in the 4th).

I agree with the old sleepy man from Cheers...but who would the Saints trade back with? I looked at this earlier, and I thought Cleveland was the best trade partner. They could've addressed a higher need with their earlier pick and then get Nassib with our pick. But - they don't have a 2nd rounder because they used it in the supplemental draft last year. The most likely team to trade with us is one of those earlier teams not wanting to take a QB in the top 5 picks, but wanting to snag them there at 15.

New Orleans Saints - Round One: Manti Te'o

That way, I can snag his GF's seat when she doesn't show up for Home Games. Selfish reason...but that's who I am.

I also think Te'o would fit in perfectly on Bourbon Street - especially down past The Cat's Meow.

I could see us trading with Buffalo and taking Mingo at #8. They are apparently 100% on drafting a QB based on need so don't necessarily need a top 10 pick. Everyone they want will be available halfway through the 2nd.

I've been really pissed off with Loomis the past couple of years. We make absolutely no moves in FA.

Get Buffalo's pick and get Mingo then trade every other pick for 2014 picks. It can't be anywhere near as bad as this draft.

I like it! But I don't think we have the collateral to trade up - particularly not having a 2nd round pick. Trading up tends to be very expensive, and I'm not sure we could do that this year. However, if we could trade back and accumulate picks for next year (like New England does every year), we could make something happen in next years draft.

I also think we should use our last pick in the draft to take whatever player guarantees us that he will leave cleat marks all over Roger Goodell on the sidelines ever single chance he gets - and I'd sign that player for $1M for 1 Year.

We make absolutely no moves in FA.

Darren Sproles, Keenan Lewis, Jabari Greer, Daren Sharper, Aubrayo Franklin, Heath Evans, Jonathan Vilma, Victor Butler, Ben Grubbs off the top of my head. Also made offers to Kruger and Nnamndi this year, can't help that someone else had more cap space. Don't see an issue with Loomis, he built a SB team.

Somebody in Buffalo's front office is dumb as 17 because they have sucked for almost two decades straight since the 4 SB appearances.

Love to see the Saints land Mingo in the first. And I generally agree with everything you said.

Saints need Mingo

I hope we get Mingo...but at this point it's clear we'd have to trade up to get him. This brings up 3 questions: (1) Who do we trade up with?; (2) What will it take to move up?; and (3) Is Mingo worth that price?

I hear the Eagles are looking to move down - but a bump up that far will cost us dearly. We can get Mingo by moving up only a few spots, but I don't see any scenarios playing out there.

Ultimately, I think we miss on Mingo and draft the best available OLB. Would also be OK if we could get a playmaking S.

I agree with you both about trading back unless they can trade up to get a top flight OT like Lane Johnson or if either Jarvis Jones or Mingo are still available when their pick comes up. If they can't get one of the 3, then trade back. I know Mingo is a bit of a risk and we need a DE more than we need a LB (Jones), but I think either of those guys provides us with some speed we're missing on defense. I'd take any of those three in a heartbeat.

Everything I've seen has Mingo or Dee going at #9 to the Jets. Getting Buffalo's pick would solve this. Send them Ivory as collateral.

I wouldn't mind trading picks with the 49ers for their 31st and a 2nd.

Falcons

1: Would love to see Banks go here. The Falcons are in need of a coverage DB and Banks is one of the best in coverage, plus he'll be available unless another team reaches for him.

2: If Banks isn't selected (highly likely), Xavier Rhodes is my guy for DB

3: Corey Lemonier (DE, Auburn)
