I know, God forbid something besides baseball be discussed on this board right now but Talladega is providing some great racing today. Attendance seems to be back up, the racing has improved back to he big pack racing, and it looks as if 20 cars have a legit shot at winning. I'm glad to see the track making a comeback.

To the start of pit road. Looks like turn one tower is about full, and Allison grandstand on backstretch is seemingly full. Least we got pack racing back I hate the two car tandem.

What changes were made to bring back pack racing?
Slight adjustment to spoiler, won't allow cooking spray to be used at pit stops, changes to radiator inlets, cooling system pressure relief valve change. This was to eliminate the two car draft.

They would often spray cooking spray on the front and back bumpers during pit stops. That would make the bumpers very slick. When you were in the two-car draft (either pushing or being pushed), the bumpers would line up and actually touch or rub. The second car in line would often move out just a little on the straightaways to get some air into the radiator. The cooking spray allowed the bumpers to slide easily on each other. The lack of cooking spray causes some bumper friction. It means that if the back car moves while running bumper to bumper, you run the risk of spinning out the car in front of you, especially in a turn when there is little downforce on the left rear. The cooking spray simply made the bumpers slicker or greasier so they would slide on each other easily without wanting to slide the whole car.

I would still be kicking AJ Allmendinger's ***. That had to have been the worst blocking attempt in the history of NASCAR. Cost me some points in my NASCAR pool. I am pissed. And not a word about it from those clowns in the booth. They are horrible. Sombody needs to shoot DW and put us all out of our misery.

a NASCAR weekend (although the sport perceived to be backwoods by many) can be an expensive proposition if you ever add every expense up. I`ve been to several races and had a ball but it ain`t cheap.
