Actually, I think it is all due to 24/7 coverage because of cell phones and social media. That and impatience for waiting on actual facts. Then, when actual facts are known and it does not fit the agenda it is debunked falsely just because I don't like it.

Multiple fantasies will be constructed to feed the Trumpsters hiding in their holes. Some Roger Stone idiocy that a normal human would be repulsed by will be what they gravitate towards. It is, after all, more than likely what got that poor lonesome fool there in the first place. Sitting in the dark in his RV as his recording played and he fingered the trigger.
