in wake of Skip Holtz firing. Any particular reason we haven't recruited him at all previously?? It appears that BOTH of the schools he's looking at are getting brand new coaching staffs, so it would be a good time to at least make a few phone calls, and get Brewster and Mullen on a plane.

That kid lit up the Elite 11 camp. He was a beast. If y'all could get into the game with him that would be huge. I think he'd bypass Dak by the end of his freshman year. Kid is a super stud.

Kid may very well be a stud but he doesn't even have us on his list, yet

he does the confederates.....Course, all of that could change now but nonetheless........AND, he would not bypass Dak by the end of his freshman year.....I don't think people realize how good Dak Prescott is going to be should he stay healthy.....I really expect him to be part of a two QB system next year......One more thing, should Cord Sandberg make it campus, we will be loaded at that position for a while......

After reading that article Marshmellow tweeted about Cord really wanting to play baseball, I'm scared to death of not having an option behind Dak. What ever became of the walk-on who chose not to accept any scholarships?

Ive also heard of the possibility of another Walk-On heading our way via transfer (I know, cue the groans). We were on him last year and he was much much better than Schuessler but we took him to enter the Nigerian scam sweepstakes

Went to one of Cord's games this year...

Sit beside the Grandmother of the team's center, she thought he would choose baseball. He's a natural hitter. He is at another level on the football field, great touch on the ball, and has command on the field.

You must be related to this guy. I've heard Les Miles mentioned Prescott on his show, before their game he said the best backup QB in the SEC maybe the country. His final colleges were Alabama LSU TCU and State. That high school QB must shoot Lightning bolts out of his a$$ or its your son. Prescott also humiliated Ash QB at Texas On 7 on 7 games twice. And in my opinion Dak surpassed Tyler half way through this season and Tyler is considered the best ever at state. We'll see.

Dak impressed for sure but he only had 198 passing yards and 98 rushing yards for the entire season and how many of those came when the game was already decided win or lose. Magical things seem to happen to backup QB's in football. They always seem to play better than the starter while standing on the sidelines. It's that "grass is always greener on the other side" thing.

Not knocking Dak, in the least... But... The Backup QB is usually the fan favorite, until he starts...

I remember when Rodney Hudson was the second coming of Don Smith. (At least we got Walt Harris out of that package)

we could have signed Bo Wallace when We signed Autry. But we were all up in the Liggins deal. Hell even if he couldn't beat out Tyler at least the Rebs wouldn't have Him. Dicking around will cause you misery.

I followed that deal pretty closely and we were never going to get Wallace if OM offered. Now MAYBE if we had offered early, early on he might would have come but there was a period of a couple of weeks where we were Wallace's only offer while OM was trying to get him to be a preferred walk on. Then Texas showed some late interest and THEN OM decided they better offer or they weren't going to get him. Wallace was always wanting the offer from OM once Freeze got there and we weren't going to get him from that point if they did. I can remember folks on here bragging that at least we forced Freeze to use a scholarship on Wallace.

Typical MSU. We can't close the game changers.....

No matter the situation. Seems like we always miss on the final keys of each recruiting class. Whether it be Ryan Perrillioux, any number of the WRs Croom recruited, Cam Newton, C.J. Johnson, Jeremy Liggins and now Cord Sandberg. Sandberg is a guy who could take MSU to the next level, not many like him around. Liggins is not that, but he was a dual threat QB that Mullen could work with and let's face it we need QBs.

Maybe Forest Williams of Amory?

Man, looking back, we've whiffed on alot of QBs over the past 3 recruiting classes. Newton, Brunetti, Mason, Nance in 2010; Rivers in 2011; Alford, Voytik, Liggins and Bauta in 2012. However if we get Dobbs this year all is well.

Wouldnt exactly call him "much better than Ryan Seacrest"...but whatever. Our QB groomer has landed one QB to fit his offense in 4, going on 5, signing classes.

It very well could be Williams.. He's not playing JUCO ball and has bulked

up considerably since last year. I know someone who talked to him personally in the past few weeks and he said he was still in contact with MSU.
