You have to go there for some reason. Top of the list has to be history and tradition, maybe the second reason is "best schedule" and the third is obviously to win "Solidier Salute" championships. You sure don't go to win NCAA championships.
Word is he reinjured his hip that he had offseason surgery on. Hasn't wrestled all weekend

One thing this finals showed us is we are incredibly fortunate we get to watch a much more exciting product than the majority of wrestling fans. Iowa vs Ohio State produced 17 takedowns, 13 for OSU / 4 for Iowa. Oh, and the 8 Stall calls, 1 for OSU and the impressive 7 for Iowa, across 9 contested matches.
IDK, man. 4 takedowns as a team in a dual meet is hard to top.
I was hoping to see a picture of the little fellas holding a giant check.
Endene was the ONLY Hawkeye to do anything mildly resembling exciting. I like the kid, might even have to root for him.
You dont need to attend Iowa to get Brands to do that. Just a short commitment.
He had to injury default against Luffman from Illinois yesterday so I'm guessing since the dual was decided, no reason to send him out against Feldman
Endene has a lot of raw talent. All he needs is a great staff to teach him how to wrestle.

Welp...that's in the books. I'm now looking for the real dual season to ramp up and watching all these coaches with their newfound desire to grow the sport putting their best lineups on the mat week after week.

Actually, OSU winning this will have Ryan dreaming impossible and he will have his best ready to rock-n-roll. He will be up and down in the chair, gnashing his teeth and challenging every call until he is out of bricks by the end of the second match. The crushed look will eventually manifest and I will smile.
Anyone know of a coach or complete staff looking for work? Monarch Field Leveling is taking applications. Looking for someone who can make intense faces, yell stupid stuff, AND coach wrestlers. No development skills needed. The ability to coach poached AAs to AA finishes is a big plus. Competitive salary and spacious 2 BR apartment in upscale section 8 setting. Water,sewer,heat,fire alarms,asbestos removal, etc not included. Call Big Lar to schedule an interview.
Kinda interesting that tOSU “matches up” well with us in that they have the best 41, a tough heavy and some unpredictability at 25. I see them winning 2 matches against PSU. That’s what matching up well with PSU looks like in 2026
Keuter seems like a decent guy. I hope he’s able to recover quickly. Unfortunately, injuries seem to be more of a norm for guys in the Iowa room.

Blaze has dominated Davino the last 2 years including a 7-0 win this summer. Davino has had major problems scoring on Blaze from neutral. Blaze also beat him 2 matches to none to make the U20 team. Scores fairly close but the matches weren’t really that close

It appears that Iowa fans have been yelling “staaaaling” for so long during their matches, that their wrestlers now think it’s a good thing.
