Drake has to be sick, hurt, bad weight cut? He looks horrible this weekend.
Ayala better get things figured out. His opponents know the slide by is coming. Ayala literally has no offense if he can’t work off it.

Period 3: Drake chooses down. Clears hips and looks to switch, but Davino gets his legs back, so it's just 1. 10-4 Davino with 1:30 left. Drake hasn't sniffed a leg yet.
40 seconds left, and Drake is kind of stalking, but not able to clear any of the head hands. Drake never gets close. Davino shoots at the ned, but it's not really an attempt. Drake never came close. 10-4 Davino, and it's hard to see a path to Iowa winning now.
9-0 Ohio State, and the Buckeyes previous form is telling here as well.

Very impressive by Davino. I knew he was a stud, but that was something else. Glad to have them meet now and without seeding implications.
He’s a pace wrestler. He is what he is. Not a ton of pace wrestlers win national championships (doesn’t mean they can’t be good). Davino is very technically good.

Iowa just didn't show up. First two matches we were completely dominated. Including our finalist from last year.

That definitely had seeding implications but agree good to get a feel. It’s not like it can get much worse than that.

Our 2 time finalist just took 0 legit shots vs a redshirt freshman. I don't care if you're wrestling Spencer effing Lee you can't go 7 minutes and not shoot. Not just that, he looks like he actively avoided the weight room all off season.
We did make the finals without Kueter so not all bad I would think
It has to be said, Ohio State has looked like the best team all weekend, and that's continuing. Everyone is not "peaked" right now, obviously, but they look fantastic.
Sometimes an early season wake up is a good thing.
Damn, it was my understanding that this was treated as an exhibition and didn't impact seeding. Good to know (or not with the way things are going).

And yes, Davino is a guy we wanted. But he's taken a huge step forward!
So what, they will be lucky to get 3rd most years. A number of teams have a lot of talented young wrestlers performing well vs the best in the country. We just have Ferrari fitting that description.

Yeah I thought this was exhibitional for some reason. I'm also pretty stupid sometimes. Either way, glad to get that feel now and not in March for the first time.
