No match at heavyweight, actually. OHio State wins 27-12, in what was a truly brutal *** kicking early, but our back half came thru in some tough matchups.

Honestly, I think this was exacerbated by Ohio State peaking harder for this even than everybody else did. I do not think they are this much better than us or Nebraska. BUT....that doesn't mean Iowa is going to be able to beat them in March, unfortunately.

Iowa and Nebraska look rusty. I expect a both teams to fine tune and imrpove. Okie St is young and will likely be a much better team late. Will be a fun dual later this season.

Love Mo. Teams will have a lot of tape on him now after this tournament. Quality tape against good competition. Really wonder how his season will play out?

Brands bros are toast. Don't see how they can get Iowa wrestling to match not only PSU but also Okie St in thr future. Iowa being Iowa likes to leave the toast in the toaster way too long. Going to burn the entire damn house down if they're not careful.

Let's not downplay what happened tonight. Yeah, it's only November but that was bad.

We need to get things figured out before we roll into Ames. They have a salty lineup!
Peterson wins, or at least doesn't get pinned, OSU wins 133, 141, Block wins the rematch, Cannon doesn't major Williams, Mikey could or should major Paddy next time, we win 174, 184, should win 197 again, and Keuter owns Feldman. Yes I believe Iowa can/will win the rematch.

What's up with caliendo? I mean all offense to Gallagher but he's not anywhere near Caliendo's level.
Thats the match that confirmed for me that Iowa and Ohio State were wrestling at different intensity levels. Even with Gallagher looking bigger, I just dont think he's on Caliendo's level. Let's see how it plays out later. That said, they definitely beat Iowa's *** today, no two ways about it.

It's a long season. Saw a lot of guys not just Iowa guys that looked rusty and hesitant. Again it's a long season. A tournament like this is a good way to pick up a little knock that you now have to carry with you all season. The Iowa practice room already is aa meat grinder.

I'm a Penn State fan and it pains me to say this but:

You guys will likely beat them during the B1G season, at B1Gs and at NCAAs.

tOSU is going to fall apart by the end of the year.

this x1000

this is the best tOSU you will see all year.

Tan Tom is going grind these dudes into the ground. He’s going to hang a banner that says 2025 national champs.

I think this is a perfect time to have national duals. Wild stuff happens out of the gate in November. As for Iowa, well they look like Iowa

Stop with the excuses. There are a lot more hungry high end wrestlers at the weight this year. Drake is very predictable in what he can do offensively, it's not that hard for guys to take away his offense from neutral and he doesn't have much mat game.
He literally looked like his feet were in cement. Could not believe how slow his reactions were. Davino was a minimum of 5x faster and it clearly showed. Just awful weekend for Drake.

What we learned this weekend.

Peterson highest of highs and lowest of lowest. Big win and bad loss. I think that continues this season.

Drake needs to go to work. Mix up his offensive attacks. Cant only rely on the slide by. Tough weight class.

Nassir and JW giving me Teemer vibes. Hope I'm wrong and they can get it going.

Block was the biggest surprise for me this weekend. I think he continues to get better.

Caliendo will be fine. Always improves as the season goes on. Ill take him in the rematch against Lockett.

PK is a dog. He looked like he was in middle season form already. Tough gritty wins.

Ferrari is that guy. Would love to see him open up his offensive attacks though. I think he could score at ease with 1 or 2 more different go to attacks.

Mo wrestled great. I think Mo scores at ease too if he just pulled the trigger.

We miss Kueter

Overall we lack consistent or diverse offensive attacks. The team looked to be in great shape this early in the season.

And the next crop of young guys are good. Really good. Vega, Robideau, Davino, Ferrari, Lockett, Sinclair.

I agree. However you saw a lot of new faces wrestle their butts off this weekend. You also saw a lot of veteran wrestlers really wrestle hesitant. I think that speaks volumes to where wrestling is at today. It's a long season.
