The QB from Las Vegas and the DL from Louisiana are expected to sign somewhere today. The DL Berymon is at 10:30 central on his social pages. No idea about the QB.

Allegedly the QB we picked up for this class isn't signing. Take it with a grain of salt for now.

Not surprising. I was surprised when he committed to us. His odds of ever playing a meaningful snap for us aren’t great but who knows.

We can get a walk on.

QB is the position I'm worried about the least.
Assuming Sukup and/or Longvall stick around, I’m not sure we need another QB this year. We have 3 guys with D-1 experience now. QB competition should be fun to watch.

We finished 83rd according to On3.
83rd. Cause apparently Nebraska is so good that we can take a break on recruiting. No good coach would settle for mediocre. Nope, how about less than mediocre? But guess what, here we are... still a fvcking joke.

All you Rhule fans cant see this? Where's that picture on that little tiny bull and Matt Rhule?

Dude does just enough to stay mediocre.

@WHCSC and @RealTucoSalamanca seem to think it’s just fine. I mean, haven’t you heard? That’s just how young teams recruit. In fact, anyone who doesn’t see it that way has a narrative they’re pushing. So, you’re clearly just pushing a narrative.

If we really wanted this guy, our coaches would be smart enough to invite him to hang out every weekend in Lincoln. Peer recruiting. Hang out with the boys, go out to eat, go to some parties. Our own backyard. Disgraceful.

The class was never going to be highly ranked. It was known way ahead of time that the class was going to be small class. Of the 11 high school players signed, 3 were top 247 players. Odem will be a starter soon and a contributor early. Berymon is going to be in the rotation early. Mpouma has a lot of upside and should grow into a very good OT. Sorenson is going to be playing snaps this year. Then go to the portal and they brought in players that will be contributors from the jump. The point of recruiting, especially in the portal era, is to improve your team. The people in charge made the decisions they did. It doesn't matter what I think about specific players since I am not coaching them and my job is not on the line if the staff loses games. I think they filled holes in places they needed.

Momentum coming out of 2026 will be determined by how much the areas that were weaknesses in 2025 improve in 2026. If Aurich is able to improve the run defense and the offensive line is able to run the ball, again with the linemen they brought in or the linemen they have that will be entering their 3rd or 4th year, or a combo of both. The team will win games and momentum for 2027 will be gained.

That is the narrative.

I always enjoy following recruiting. I want top 10 classes as much as anybody. 83rd is embarrassing, although I take the small class into account. The bigger issue by far: Poor in-game coaching, and horrific development. This is why top 25 classes have not resulted in top 25 teams at Nebraska. Up until now, I would suggest Rhule’s key problem has not been recruiting.

Until we get a staff that shows they know how to develop these kids, recruiting is almost secondary. Outside of EJ, the development of these players is an embarrassment. Instead, some blame recruiting services and their rankings, others blame the player, some blame the portal and nil for taking them from us.

Great coaches have a system and cannot wait to plug the right kids into that system (TO, Saban, Kiffin, etc). What is our system? It changes every year. I would suggest we don’t have a system. Is it a 335 or a 425 on defense? just look at our quarterback recruiting and I scratched my head on what our system is. Do we want dual threats or do we want pocket passers? Is it a spread or is it a power running game? It feels like Rhule tries to find the talent and then build a system around him… Like he did with Raiola. It’s backwards IMO.

Yep

I posted about Rhule’s apparent lack of either a plan or the conviction required to stick to that plan years ago

This hasn’t gotten better since

we have no identity and never have under Rhule (unless you count being incredibly soft as an identity)
