Exactly, that is Godfthr's point. Naz's first title was in 6A second was in 5A and now successed to 6A, while providence would likely be forced to 8A if classed as likely 7A next summer. Did I get that right Godfthr?
Actually now that I think of it I'm wrong you play the higher of the 2 classes you won.

I am running to get my graphing calculator!

Ok so what is it?

If Naz wins: 7A? How many kids in the school? IHSA is saying 1293.60 so I’m assuming 784 actual bodies in the school (1293.6/1.65).

If Provi wins: 8A? How many kids in the school? IHSA is showing 1706 so I’m assuming 1034 actual bodies in the school (1706/1.65)

I’d like to try and compare the situations with ESL (one of the only schools that do this type of thing voluntarily). Edit plus Phillips!! Thx Fox!

ESL is showing 1289 kids in school. No math needed.

So - it seems Provi and ESL in the same ball park size wise. but Naz in 8A with 784 kids?

How does this year's PC team compare to the one that beat CG for title several years ago?

add on Phillips at 5A.

I also believe IC will move up two next year if they win

lol, stay off the drugs son.
I did say IF.

Also, look at 7A this year. IMO, LZ has a chance to finish as a great team. The other 3 seimi-finalists (Benet, Batavia and MC) are hardly world beaters. In fact, Naz beat Benet this year, and IF the early hype is correct, Naz should be much better next year. I don't see it as a stretch to say Naz could win 7A next year, IF (there's that word again) they turn out to be as good as has been projected.

Especially if a bunch of teams that normally hang around the cutoff line of 7A/8A get placed in 8A due to a bunch of firmly 8A teams crapping the bed like what happened this year (we won’t name any of those teams though.:().

I agree with pjjp. Nobody in 7A this year is a world beater except maybe LZ. Naz held Benet to 42 yards of offense they could be fine depending how the bracket setup. Or Naz could go right back to 5A.

That PC team was STACKED. We didn't have anyone who could hang with Boykin. Warfield was a workhorse, much like Pennington. They also had a HUGE TE who went to Iowa, can't think of his name. Thought we had the game since I believe we had the better line.

This PC team is good, but they are not as good as that Championship team.

How can that be? There is no success bump for the 8A teams - it’s not like LA can be bumped to 9A if they win the 8A title this year. Sounds like to avoid the punishment - you need to become a very large private school and then you can’t be messed with!

Instead of 8a private schools like Loyola getting bumped up they would be banned from having any home games.

Looks like next year Naz would have been huge favorite in 6A with Evans gone from PRidge. 7A you will have MC who bring a lot back and great lower levels. Flyers still 7A I believe not sure what they bring back. Does PC move back to 7A? And then does GW, Edwardsville or even a Maine S slide down from 8A.

except the way it looks theres no way Naz would be 6A . Either 5A or 7A. I don't think enrollment would put them in 6A

I believe if NAZ is a 5A team they would go to &A, if the smallest 6A...then yes, 8A.

Typical bs by the IHSA

That's what I initially thought but godfthr said something about bump from highest class won which would be 6a this year. And 3/4 years is 2 class bump and 6a plus 2 would be 8a.

But how does PC get penalized since they haven’t even made playoffs in 2 years?

This **** is confusing?!???!

Huge?

We return ALOT next year. I would say we will be the FOX favorite going into next season. Priester, Daigle, Buss, and a few of our lineman. I like what I see.

SHG, also have a very talented underclass and will be good for years to come. Can't sell Montini short. And PR, even losing Samson, they will still be good next year. They have ALOT of underclassman starting on D and 1/2 their backfield back.

2 state titles games in the last 4 years with 1 being in the last 2. 2014 7A and possibly 2017 6A. Which would then put them in the higher of the 2 classes 7A

No one has any clue and is just guessing. Someone should take the time to email the IHSA and ask. Not it.

I wish we were still the team no one talks about.

Oh well. Times change I guess.

Emdee91, a question if I may. Haven't decided to listen to the game on wjol or actually make the drive up and attend with some friends. Is this a game one can walk up and purchase tickets and get some kind of seat or will it be a sell out and standing room only? Also is that large grass area still available for pregame celebrating and parking. Thanks. Ratsy

Wait, what is the Naz Rule added this season? I can't keep up with the Bloomington Bozos.
The rule as orginally written was that a team win 2 times in a class they move up. They added this season regardless of class 2 times they play the higher of the 2. So since Naz won 6A then 5A under the original rule would still be playing 5A this year. The added rule only effected Naz thus I named it the "The Naz Rule"

This is too confusing, I wish the success factor rule was for everyone at the very least. Obviously it was to get more titles to public schools at the mid level size, which I guess worked last year in 5a, but man this is annoying. I will say that the success factor has made 6a a very fun bracket, in my opinion. I think 5a is known for having some very good Catholic schools in the past and 6a had some very good public schools and I think the combination of them together makes for a fun bracket, but 5a has turned into the biggest cake walk due to this. Either way I don't like the rule

Per the current forecast and this bit of info I found, I would plan to stay home.

"Along with the rain and the cold, rodent season is upon us. Rats and mice can be a year-round pest problem, but when the wet and chilly weather arrives it sends the critters looking for a warm dry place to call home for the winter."

I thought I had SF figured out before then the IHSA tweaked it or something. I really have no idea on next year except I THINK Montini goes back down to 5A and SHG stays 6A. Don't quote me on that.

Tickets are always available at walk up, and seats have been plenty this post season.

And yes, the grassy area is still available, just don’t pregame in MY parking spot!! I might have to whine for a couple of minutes about the extra walk time!!
