I haven't seen this discussed. The NBA announced the other day they were adding H-O-R-S-E to the All Star Weekend. I think this is great news and much needed. A lot of the weekend events had gotten dull and lost a lot of the excitement for various reasons. This is a good shot in the arm for them, and should be pretty entertaining. Just curious who everyone would like to see participate in it. My choices would be Kobe, Vince Carter, and Gilbert Arenas, but since Arenas is hurt this year, I'd pick Kevin Durant to take his place.

but I sure with they would get NBA legends to play this one. All the old-school players may have lost their moves, but most never lose their shot. It's like going to the local gym in town to see a group of old men playing pick-up ball. Those guys still can shoot the threes. Can you imagine watching Larry Bird back in the All Star Weekend playing a game of H-O-R-S-E? Jordan vs Bird? Something to think about.

entertaining than the HORSE games we played in high school, nor the All-Star dunk contest. There's only so many trick shots you can come up with before you start repeating the list.

It's telling when the main focus (i.e. fan favorite) of the All-Star Game/Weekend is no longer the actual game.

All-Star games/weekends: Money generators? Mostly. Ego builders for the participants? Yes. Participants are truly the best players? No. Entertainment ? For some people. A chance for the (supposedly objective and neutral) media to spend more time around (i.e. kiss up to) their friends (the players)? Yes.

I'm in favor of doing away with all All-Star games in all sports on all levels.
