Good deal for both teams. Cleveland wants to win now and Minnesota is rebuilding. Love wasn't going to stick around after this year anyway.
Unbelievable deal for Cleveland in my opinion. Regardless of what Wiggins ends up becoming, Love is a superstar now and he has plenty left in the tank to do it for many more years. The fact that they were able to get rid of the disastrous pick that was Bennett at the same time is just icing on the cake. Also, I think that you can rest assured that the 1st rounder for next year will be somewhere between 25 and 30, so no huge loss there.
Being that Love was clearly on the way out in Minnesota, I guess this really isn't all that bad for them either. Even though they didn't receive any sure fire superstars, there's plenty of potential with what they got back.

I haven't watched the NBA since the Kobe Shaq days but this may be the year I come back. I really, really like Derrick Rose and if he's healthy + Lebron back in Cleveland could make for an awesome year. The icing on the cake would be that Dwayne Wade had the worst season of his career.
Kyrie, James, and Love are a hell of a big three and it fits together much better than the big three in Miami. You've got three unselfish players that are very good passers. You've got a big three with not only three very different skill sets, but your 4 can also stretch the court enough that driving lanes remain open. That should be a big three that older, ring chasing veterans are excited to play with.
I agree that the east is over, but I still think the best teams are in the west. Love is a bit overrated in my opinion. They are going to play him away from the basket to give James room to operate off the dribble, so Love will essentially become a spot-up guy, which takes away a lot of the board work he brings to the table. It's going to be interesting to see how the new coach there fits the pieces together.
How is Love overrated? He's an elite passer, borderline elite 3 point shooter, and has averaged over 12 rebounds over his career. And its not like the Timberwolves have other threats. He's it. Unless you think Ricky Rubio and Kevin Martin are some sort of dynamic duo.
He's an elite selfish ******* too. The guy is good, there's no question but when you sacrifice getting back on Defense or running out on fast breaks because you want to pad stats to make sure you get a double double, we are gonna have a problem.

Over the last 4 seasons, Love has averaged 10 rebounds on the defensive side alone. He could stand at half court on offense and be totally removed from it and STILL average double digit rebounds over the last 4 seasons. So if they were to use Love as a spot up shooter(as you suggest) and he never hit the boards on offense, he would still average a double double.
Love is...loved by statheads. Overrated?
