I've always guessed pro sports teams circumventing salary caps in a myriad of ways. Brady's conspicuously low contracts with the Pats comes to mind. Although it's sure hard to imagine those two entities cheating or anything...

Yeah, I expect Silver to send a Strongly Worded Letter.

I have no doubts that this happens all the time.

Didn't Minnesota get hammered for something like this with Joe Smith?

ETA:

"The Joe Smith controversy was an NBA salary cap scandal where the Minnesota Timberwolves owner, Glen Taylor, and Smith's agent made a secret agreement for Smith to sign three below-market, one-year contracts to secure his "Bird Rights" so the Timberwolves could offer him a lucrative long-term deal later. The NBA discovered this agreement, voided Smith's contracts, and heavily punished the Timberwolves with a $3.5 million fine and the loss of five first-round draft picks. Joe Smith himself was also punished, being sent to the Detroit Pistons, despite the league and he himself acknowledging his lack of knowledge of the secret pact."

Absolutely shocked that Kawhi would’ve been the one involved with a no-show salary

I think there are going to be beyond serious repercussions for this.

Jalen Brunsons deal is getting scrutinized by social media because he took “less money” to stay.

Cuban says Ballmer and the Clippers actually got scammed. And the Aspiration partners plead guilty to various charges last week based on fraud.

Dak was making 50 million a year on a $800,000 contract and it was legit. He had that much in endorsement monies.

Clippers don't have the fans to support that kind of NIL and Dallas does.
