I’m really not understanding this. I mean, there are pretty clear NCAA rules against this.

Is the new gameplan to just take whoever you feel like putting on a college roster and then take the NCAA to court if they make a peep?

Agreed, has to be some easy explanation out there.

And WTF is a 2 way player? Aren’t all basketball players 2 way players?

The guys that left for pro and not getting much playing time are realizing they can make a lot more money and get more playing time in college if they go back.

I wonder if we are about to see much less early interest in going pro for basketball and baseball.

I think where we’re heading fast is unlimited eligibility for everyone.

Yes, and the NCAA, up to this point, always loses.

There will be no stability until there is some type of antitrust protection given by Congress

A 2 way player plays on your G-League roster and can be called up and down like someone you call up from AAA in baseball. A 2 way can only play in 50 NBA games in a season.

I don’t think it ultimately gets that bad. Most of the overly negative take never happen. Similar to the super league breakaway. But I do wonder why it’s not being talked about. Last I checked Pavia wanted another year.

Yeah, been Chicken Littling this point for multiple years now because it is the only end result, if what has been happening, continues to happen.

So much of what has happened these last 5 years has been a result of the NCAA not being able to set limits. Various limits have been tossed out the window.
Well the limit to play 4 seasons was obviously something to eventually challenge.

- it restricts a player's ability to earn.
- it restricts a student athlete's ability to learn.
- it was an arbitrary amount of time and continues to be an arbitrary amount of time, so it can't be defended well.

Are there any guys struggling to get past AAA? Just can’t handle top level pitching? Just throwing that out there.
