I watched the Denver Dallas game tonight and I'm suprised this team hasn't gone far in the post season. They seem to have as much talent as LA and OKC. Melo, Billups, Affalo, Harrington, Nene, Lawson, K-Mart. So someone tell me why haven't they won a title?

And when he goes down so does their interior offense and rebounding. Plus Harrington and Affalo are new this year.

Lawson is also a 2nd year player so is getting better.

Because as good as their roster might look, the West has been LOADED.

2007 - lost to Spurs (eventual champs)
2008 - won 50 for the first time in franchise history. Every West team in the playoffs had 50 wins or more for the first time ever. They ended up with an 8 seed and lost to Lakers, who made the Finals where the Celtics beat them.
2009 - 54 wins. Got the 2 seed and made it to the Conference Finals, losing to the eventual champion Lakers
2010 - 53 wins. Played the Jazz in the first round and lost.

Short answer would be a disappointing 2010 playoffs and Kobe Bryant.

It's in everyone's best interest to get him dealt soon.

If he just walks out on Denver after this year, Denver won't get anything in return for a top NBA player. If he waits till this summer, he'll lose around 30 million bucks under the new CBA.

They'll trade him for a couple picks and a couple guys guys with expiring contracts, so they'll have a **** load of cash to rebuild with in 2012

Melo isn't that good. Can't remember where I saw the article that explained it (I think ESPN), but the basic gist of it was that Melo is good at generating a high volume of decent shots. The problem being that while they make his stat line look good, he was really just trading decent shots other team mates could be taking for his own, not making the team any better or more efficient. Haven't watched him enough to know whether or not to believe it, but I remember at the time I read it, along with all the statistical breakdowns, I thought it was a plausible explanation.

Gasol, Bynum, and Odom eat the Nuggets alive down low and no one on Denver can hold Kobe's jock. Martin is nothing but a foul machine that is easy to get out of the game because he can't control his emotions in the playoffs.

To say he isn't that good is just wrong. He pulls up like kobe but has size to drive to the rim as he did all last night.
