I pray that you are asking "How are our freshmen" as it relates to just the game but I think you are asking how are freshmen on the game because you think that's how they will be in real life.
I used to love, love, love EA Sports' NCAA games. But Croom ruined it for me. Starting last year, I just couldn't pick it up. It was too depressing. I probably played NCAA09 5-6 times until Mullen was hired.
Then I started playing MSU with UF's playbook. It was OK. But it was still the same ****** players with the albatross of white helmets.

build a ****** Idaho team to a national contender, and after a few years move the team to the Pac10 or something. You dont always have to play with State.
That's one of my favorite things to do. Take over a 1 or 2-star program and build them into a power. After a couple of National Championships, move on to another crappy program.
there are several ways to fix these issues with roster downloads and simply changing all the players socks to black mids.
I've had it over the weekend and there seems to be a few lingering issues. When we are playing a better team, we get a 15 yard facemask on 1 out of 10 tackles. As far as the socks go, it has striped socks and full length black and white socks on the 360 version. The fact that two players who graduated are still on the game seems like that didn't really do there homework. Relf is also number 1 on the depth chart.

The guy who did the rosters for EA got fired because he sent the wrong roster file to the guys who compiled the game. The correct one is available for download from EA sports. I used it last night and it is, for the most part, spot on. Although we did go 7-5 with a 2OT win over Ole Miss in my first season on full sim (I will take that).
Ah a fellow Vandal, did you ever notice in last years game when it shows quick facts about each team while the game is loading it had this to say about Idaho "In 1998 as a 16 1/2 point underdog against Mississippi State, Idaho caused 6 turnovers to win the game 40-34"? I used to care about these mistakes, but it reached the comical stage many many years ago.
You could pick his hometown, favorite school, etc.

The helmets on the controller select screen are still the old ones, but in game it's the new ones. The ESPN radio stream is pretty cool, no point really as they were talking about the All Star game a few minutes ago (as you would expect), but it gives a nice feel. Now to change all the band music over and I'll be set.

I was over at Best Buy during launch looking at some TV's and they had the game pluged up to a i think a 50" and some guy was playing Florida at Miss State. It looked pretty good. They had the stadium down and even the goal post was off center. The uniforms looked good. I really am going to like the Maroon over white uniforms with maroon helmets.
Or have those even been determined yet?
