Says they're always there for student athletes. Someone needs to remind will Redmond. He's the biggest victim in our punishment

I hate the NCAA...they're incompetent, inconsistent, corrupt, etc. But in this case, don't you think Redmond knew that the cash, jacket, gift card, and whatever else he got was against the rules? Maybe the additional five games was too heavy, but it's hard to say he was a "victim".

5 games I have no problem with. 1 year and 5 games I do

Not if that's the general culture of recruiting... in other words, the "Jones'" do it, too. Every indication says that's the case. That's my biggest problem... these rogue recruiting instances get called out and punished, but the NCAA has no problem letting the culture stay in place. If they truly wanted change, they would go after and reform the entire recruiting culture and not just punish the unfortunate ones who get called out and punished.

Banned from any NCAA function. Ban players from ever playing college football at D1 level and **** will slow down. Consequences for actions.

Maybe

You may kid but it sure would be easy for Devinner to launder recruiting money through that NP of his.

As long as the punishment for the person giving the benefit matches the receiver I have no problem with it

But the problem is ... it's not illegal to give (or accept) money. It's just against NCAA rules, and they have no power over the alumnus, but they do have power over the player. Perhaps it should be made illegal, then you could punish the benefactor.
