Even if they decide to punish Ole Miss/Golding in some way, it's safe to say these kind of penalties won't serve as much of a deterrent: $5,000 penalty, 1 year probation, 2 weeks prohibited from recruiting, 2-year show cause.

Given the current state of college football and near total lack of rules and enforcement, tampering should be elevated to a Level I violation and receive the harshest penalties. If the punishment isn't a deterrent, then don't waste anyone's time.

Yeah, this pretty much makes tampering very worth it.

And here's the kicker. We know what would happen if the NCAA did impose any harsh penalty. Ole Miss would sue them, a judge would place an injunction on the penalties, and they would eventually get drastically reduced, if not eliminated entirely.

We need to start hiring the dirtiest of the dirty. Of coarse we will get the death penalty, but at least we can enjoy the ride.

Jeremy Pruitt is in the process of suing the NCAA to overturn his show cause.Thats really the only legitimate punishment they can levy on a coach. If the show cause is overturned then why not cheat?

All of this was going on for years and a team only got busted if someone squilled.. that's how Clemson got caught in the 80s. I often wondered why we couldn't get a good bagman back then

If it really was as simple as having a good bagman, Georgia would have 10 national chamapionships and Tennessee would have 7-8 of them. Players count for sure but coaches cant always identify who will be a star and who won't pan out.
