NCAA Tournament seems to be headed to 76 teams...

If they insist on growing the field, make it 96 with the first 32 getting 1st round byes. 64 is ample to determine a champion.

I wouldn't hate to see the NIT become at least marginally meaningful again.

This is what they should do. 2 auto bids per conference, regular season & tournament champion (or 2nd best team if 1 wins both). First weekend would run from Wed-Mon. And the low seeded small conference auto bids would have a realistic chance to win a game.

I guess they can play the meaningless 1st round starting on Tuesday at 9 am since nobody is going to give a crap to watch it.

64 (not 65) seems like a good number. They are going to screw up one of the great sporting events.
This is one of the NCCA's events, and they see dollars they are not pulling in. Otherwise, it does not serve much of a purpose to me.

I’m not a fan of expanding it. There’s ways that they could do it like patdog laid out that would be the most palatable but they’ll find a way to screw it up.

if the NCAA has proven anything in all these years, it is that they are not capable of making a good decision

Why do "sports fans" seem often to not want more sports? The first round of the NCAA is the best thing in all of sports, I would love to see more games. I guess I'm one of the few who actually like it. What else are you going to do those March weekends? There's not much else going on.

I'm glad you guys weren't around when it expanded from 32 to 40, then to 64, then to 68, y'all would have complained about that too (although it is the absolute best thing in sports).

I guess if y'all ol' ladies wanted to increase the amount of sex, y'all be against that too?

Integrity of the game. That requires some consistency and a standard.

This isn’t the worst thing the NCAA has done, but it’s unnecessary.

Well two years ago Florida Atlantic made the Final Four, last year, three of the final four teams had players from that Florida Atlantic team. The NIL era will burst any hopes of there being a Cinderella

Depends on which team she’s inviting 8 more of.
I'm with ya on two. But you start having to juggle priority at 3 and with 4 or more those teams just are there for background noise to play with themselves.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.
