At least every game will be shown live in its entirety now.

Will the play in game be for teams like Prairie View and Jackson State or for teams like MSU and Virginia Tech? I guess what I am asking is for the true "Last 4 in" or for the worst teams in the tourney?

We will still get screwed, because this will only allow 4 more mid-majors or lesser known teams to make it.

How would you do it though? You can't have those guys competing for the 16 seeds. That would be unfair to the 1 seeds. Designate the games for a 12 seed in each region?

This was my first thought when I saw this on TV. My guess is it will bump the Prairie Views and Jackson States of the basketball world down and still give the States and Virginia Techs the 12 to 14 seeds. Never know with the NCAA though...

Though it will probably be like the play-in game, having the so-called last eight at-large teams play would be a hell of a lead-in to the tournament.<div>Two competitive games each on Monday and Tuesday before the real action kicks off Thursday? Yes, please. The logistics would not really work out, though, I'm afraid.</div>

Supposedly the whole reason they're doing this is for money reasons and to gain more tournament revenue by having more games. I just don't see how broadcasting 4 games along the lines of Alcorn State vs. Weber State is going to make any kind of significant profit for the NCAA. What network or advertiser is going to shell out any significant money for that? I'm a sports addict and even I don't watch the NCAA play-in game now. I won't watch one. I won't watch four.

Now, if you have two games tipping off at 7pm and two games tipping off at 9pm the likes of Dayton vs. Florida, Mississippi State vs. Utah State, Virginia Tech vs. Minnesota, etc. then you've got me sitting on my couch for the night.
