Incredible streak but the two losses over the last ten years, Az State and Iowa, were by 2 and 1 pts…

at ASU, there was an injury default at 184 to Z. Valencia. No Rasheed and a bit too early for AB. Conel lost at 197. Final was 18-19. I think it was also Cassar’s last match.

at Iowa, Desanto raged and lost team point in his loss to RBY. Hall losing to Kemerer hurt the most after Vincenzo beat Marinelli. Brooks won but Iowa won both 197 and 285 to win 19-17.

Just don’t know if this PSU has the Bonus Point fire power it takes in the NCAA tournament like previous teams to break the points record. We shall see soon. Love this time of the year.

We had 8 AA last year. If you set an o/u at 8.5, I’d take the over this year. I think we have champs at 165 and 184. We have finalists at 141, 157, 174, and hwt. Prob 149 too. That’s 130 with no bonus points and nothing from 125, 133, and 197. I could see any of those finalists winning. I could see 125 and 197 making a run to the finals. We need bonus points, but not sure we need as many as past teams got. I don’t think we even had a ton last year.

Edit: using wrestlestat’s projection tool and current intermat rankings that were updated today, Penn state would get 178 points if they wrestle to seed. That includes some bonus, but wrestlestat typically undersells that.

Edit again: Apparently they had 34 bonus points last year. Didn't feel like that many, but maybe that's because they had such a comfortable lead. That's the most they've had under Cael. The points record is definitely in jeopardy if they just do what we expect.
