Because we can’t drop county teams to my understanding, so the bye week week is the same as our county games unless we shift it around
I'm thinking SOMEONE would have to do some shifting because if a team already has 2 byes I doubt they would drop any they currently have just to be in the same position with 2 byes

Ok buddy.....do you honestly expect anyone that has kept up with high school football in NC over the last 10 years to believe you?

It's the internet and you should believe everything you read, especially from a guy named Frank. Duh.

I think ANY high school fan would love to see Rams v Lions in any way shape or form. 2 great programs and that goes unquestioned. However, outside of a slim slim chance of a playoff meetings, these schools likely wont meet.

Distance is a big reason. It takes 2 and 1/2 hours to drive between Reidsville and Shelby. That's a long, long drive on a crammed activity bus. Not sure who would sign off on that for a regular season game. You could get charter buses, but that's a wild expense for an away game during the regular season.

How about a neutral location? Great in theory, but where? Concord or Salisbury are the geographical starting points, and Im sure there is an old stadium to use somewhere in the greater Cabarrus/Rowan area. But how much to rent it out? Lot's up up front costs for a regular season game if you ask any AD.

Could the NCHSAA step in? Maybe, but they like money too much and hate great ideas too much to do anything that involves a great idea and spending a little. They could do a couple of "NC Spotlight" games and front some of the travel and rental costs. Again a great idea, but NCHSAA and great ideas mix like oil and water.

So that rules out regular season just about. How about the playoffs? Both are in 2A, so there is a chance, right? Of course! However, Shelby keeps creeping closer to 900 ADM (busing in elementary kids on ADM day helps.. sorry I had to) and Reidsville keep drifting towards 700 kids, and maybe lower if the water hole rumblings are accurate. That's a big gap, and likely means Rams go 2A and Shelbsters go 2AA. The right teams qualifying here or there could bring one to the other, but not likely with nearly 200 kid difference.

Lion attack seems to think Shelby will be 2a. It’s some extra teams that will be 2aa such as Eden Morehead and burns

My inside source says Shelby is around the 886-906 range, not counting local elementary schools.
