Rankings doesn't mean anything,Clinton and WRH are the East best right now.

I agree, cause come playoff time ranked or not, no one really “wants” to play Clinton or WRH. They will, and they may win, but no one really wants to unless they have to.

Yea.......rankings don't matter. It's what takes place on the field. Still, don't sleep on the West Stanly Colts (7-0). Good solid team and very we'll coached. Could give one of the top teams a great game come playoff time. My Forest Hills Yellow Jackets hung with them for one half. After that West Stanly took control and never looked back.

if you get to the 4th round and havn't met one of em, means they wern't as good as touted. Nobody wants to play them ..... Maybe, Maybe not. :D:D

I Agree..they could be a sleeper in the playoffs. Extremely solid.

I am not a North Lincoln fan but how are they not in consideration. They lost their first game. But have blown almost everyone else out since. They are solid in every aspect of the game. Except their visitor side concessions. They suck at that. Out of almost everything before halftime. Seriously North show a little more hospitality than that.

There are quite a few teams who are in the same boat. There are only eight spots.

I think you know what I meant. Basically, if I’m a coach my team will play anybody anytime anywhere but if I’m being honest I probably feel a little better seeing Team A on my schedule next vs Team B, but I’ll play whoever I’m faced against. Wasn’t a shot any any team, you could throw SWO in there too. The blue bloods of the east.

That’s the reason the DarkHorses had to go to Central Cabarrus for a non-conference game

Hibriten hasn’t really played anybody and lost about EVERYBODY to graduation. Lost to Alexander Central and was losing to Ashe Co at the half but did come back and win. ACentral is not that good I mean they are good but not great and are a 1 and done team in playoffs or 2nd round at best. Hibriten may be tough and well coached but they are not the team of last year and year before. 2nd or 3rd round and it’s a wrap.

Don’t really know who Burke pulls for, but he talks about HHS more than anybody in Caldwell Cty! Usually it’s about how weak their conference is or they’re not as good this year as last.... You ever think a team as young as HHS could just get better as season goes? Cause I promise they’re not gonna be an easy out in playoffs. They’re definitely not as explosive but trust me they can move that football! As for Alexander game yes they beat us but sure they wouldn’t want to play now. Also at Ashe 7 offensive starters missed at least 1 qtr, cause they didn’t wear correct sicks! Oh yeah everybody in Burke Cty thought it would a game last Friday night at Draughn! Not sure what happened to the 300 and some yards passing or the fastest kid on a field in Burke Cty running around everywhere!

Are you the Hibriten poster who goes by “LOOGDOGGY” on the other site who talks nonsense and big “ish” about Shelby. If so, you made this comment in that Shelby going small thread, “Shelby wouldn’t be so dominant, if they’d give Burns and Kings Mountain back their players”.

Could you enlighten me about these KM players that Shelby benefits from. I do think our third team runningback is from KM, now that I think about it. We do have a couple of ex Bulldogs, they have a couple of ex Shelby products. Crest’s best player is an ex Lion. I can only imagine how even more dominant Shelby would be with if he and another ex Lion who’s on the Charger roster were still Lions.

Anyway is that you? Yet, you get so butthurt when West Caldwell posters imply that Hibriten recruited/recruits the West Caldwell players that are on your roster. Maybe Hibriten wouldn’t be as dominant if they weren’t a 3A team masquerading as a 2A team.

Rarely say anything about Shelby on this site, I guess due to the heavy Shelby presence here, but you trash the heck out of us on that other site.

The radio people and Jefff thought it was gonna be a game too. I knew it wouldn’t be a game from the get go. We outsiders give Hibriten a hard time bout the easy conference just out of fun, not really doing it to provoke anybody ha ha. I def give Hibriten credit though they still playing super tough and looking good throughout the biggest senior/talent loss ever. Losing 25 some seniors and a coaching change is a lot to overcome, Some schools come out absolutely terrible the next year from that big of a change. I do take into account teams getting stronger as season goes along and making adjustments. If Hibriten gets talked about a lot, then they must be doing something right. Will they be tested? I’d say big time come 2nd round most likely. We’ll see.

Nope I’m not doggy! I am a HHS poster though. I rarely ever have a neg post about any team, I just try to make everyone understand in Caldwell Cty you play football at HHS, basketball at WC and baseball at S.C.! Just the way it is. You’ll never be able to stop transfers, anywhere! I do not post a lot but I will tell you this, Shelby is the benchmark for everyone else! Not because they have transfers( but km sure they do occasionally) but because they run a PROGRAM. Those great coaches over there would never have an illegal transfer to jeopardize their STATE RUN! Neither would HHS! In was only stating Burke don’t even seem to have a team but he sure can bad mouth others! Also about being 2a-3a, you can only play where they put you! Someone has to teeter on that line!

I edited that 2A/3A line in at the last minute, because I have seen that card played against Hibriten a few times. That post on the other site just rubbed me the wrong way. I’m born and raised here, Football is everything in Shelby, Cleveland County, period. You should see the fan and player turnout at the peewee and midget games. It’s that big of a deal. Heck, we even have flag football for 5 and 6 year olds. These kids grow up wanting to be Lions, Chargers, Bulldogs, and Mountaineers.

I will never forget the time when I asked my son who was 5 years old at the time, “Who do you want to play for when you get big?”. I’m thinking Steelers, Cowboys, the NFL, the boy replied, “I want to play for Shelby”. And, it’s not a secret that inner city Shelby produces some great athletes who contribute to the football program yearly. We don’t need any help from anywhere. Do we get a transfer or two occasionally? Absolutely, just like everyone else.

I agree your program has to be great in order to be a Champion, but let's say you have a huge O-Line and D-line for 2a football. Your RBs and receivers run a 4.7/4.8 (average speed). You get two transfers that run 4.4/4.5. Sometimes transfer even if just one or two, make good teams state championship teams.

You also get transfers that end up riding that pine, find themselves further down on that depth chart thinking the grass is greener, thinking they’d come right in and start. They would have been better off just staying put, and continuing to work hard. It’s not that often that you get those caliber of transfers you’re talking about.

And by the way, didn’t SWO get a great transfer runningback by the name of BJ Jordan in 2018? You get amnesia or something? I felt like you were trying to throw some shade, compliment us first, then come with the shady insinuation. Like I said, we have athletes down here in Shelby, we’re good on the strength of that. And yes, SWO has benefitted from a transfer on an occasion just like everyone else has, see BJ. Jordan in 2018.

It speaks for itself that shebly has mid 800 students and can field a team with 50+ athletes every single year,, thats strong tradition. Hibriten and most other schools outside of cleveland county have a hard time fielding 30 to 40 bodies and 8 to 10 athletes.. Sometimes you field all the right athletes and you have great seasons, sometimes not so much.. The passions with the transfer problems lie more within these message boards than with the kids playing the game. Shelby is Shelby, year in and year out,,, and everyone on this board wishes their team was as talented every year the way they are.. There is just a different feeling when you play shelby ,,, I really could care less if they go small or big cause right now Hibriten is 1/1 with them....and we have seen two awesome games in lenoir the last couple years.

Trust me I am not disagreeing. Just reading some threads, and someone mentioned basically you may only get 2 or 3 transfers a year. I'm agreeing but 2 or 3 transfers can make a world of difference. I can name at least 2 SWO championship teams that don't make it out the east without transfers.

I can't think of one at WRH in the past. Got a couple now that is helping.

What you find is a school nearby that sucks at football, but has a good player. Things happen after that and you might get yourself a present to add to your squad. Lol

I have zero solid info to back this up, but let's look at some very interesting things in your area. James Kenan is near your school. Mysteriously James Kenan has started to go down, and Wallace is been a beast. Not saying both have not been good at same time before, but it looks like some James Kenan kids made there way over to WRH. SWO use to have speed for days. Now mysteriously WRH has speed for days. Duplin, Onslow, and Pender have definitely had there share of athletes transferring between there schools. Everyone Rob's Pender

Andrew Bowden is the only one can remember. Transfer from JK cause of issues other than football. Went to two ships with Nate Irving.

Shi++ we didnt play football in the 90's :D:D:D
HHS straight down field and scored on first possession and pissed Shelby off! Final 42-6 I think! But we did turn things around in the 90’s. Went to playoffs few times started wing-t / triple option whatever they call it!
