Still have some work to do but it’s nice to see the program on the rise. They have a lot of talent coming up from JV and middle school. Freshman starting in secondary. Good years to come. Just the beginning.

I like it, they should be hungry and still out to prove something each week. We have some very special players that can carry them deep if they keep playing like this

Any chance chase is legit?

It would be something if Bartlett yancey could make it to Reidsville undefeated.
We shall see, they have blown out all of their competition, albeit some inferior competition, but as I mentioned in the Burns vs Chase thread, they had some of the fastest skill position players at the shrine bowl combine. It seems as if Chase fields a solid team once a decade, this may be one of those teams. They’re definitely feeling themselves, a Facebook friend of mine and recent former Shelby player, shared a post where one of their players was calling out Shelby. Their game Friday with Burns has my interest, I expect Burns to expose them, though, but they always seem to play Burns tough.

Ha ha. I'm not gonna lie, it does feel good to see our name up there again. However, we've got a lot of work to do in order for us to be a threat to a state title. Stay humble Dawgs. Keep working hard, and take nothing for granted.
Lord look who is SUDDENLY TALKING STATE TITLE. THE MIGHTY UNBEATABLE BURN BULL DOGS [ WOW.] I guess THE MIGHTY GOLDEN LIONS should start WORKING ON THEIR 3 POINT SHOTS FOR BASKETBALL.

I honestly think South Point is good enough to being this list...
I would have them in the top 10, if it was based on 10 teams. Better yet, looking back at it, I agree with you. I would put them at no. 8, and take Pisgah out, no disrespect to those guys. South Point is quietly returning back to form.

Believe me, I'm excited for the upper cleveland county boys. Your fans have endured a lot and have stayed on these boards through it all. That's respectable. I hope to see Burns go far...except against one team of course

Stay off this thread Bud, it's for the mountain boys only. See SWE is getting some love, glad to see that. Going to be interesting where NE moves up to after they thump Havelock Friday

We will have our hands full with Shelby. Last year means nothing. I do know this, you better hope your boys win it all. I mean it’s the best team since Bubba Hillman and Massey was rolling. You may not have been born then. I am going off the fact you cannot type or spell. By the way, I think everyone has figured out you type this way on purpose and you are probably not even a KM fan? Troll away pal, troll away.

As long as I dont say the "T" word I'm good! Lol. Only thing that worries me about SWE is they struggled with the spread last year in the playoffs. If they can sure that up and find some sort of compliment to #11 they should ok.

@Maddog Pride Yep! Best Kings Mountain team since that ‘98 Mountaineer team. That was one helluva team. Bubba should have carried the ball more than 15 times in the State Championship, though. WS Carver, LaShun Peoples and company were great too, though.

That KM team had some studs on the line, but Bonham for Carver was a man child.

Exactly! Hellacious line with one of the best runningbacks to ever come through Cleveland County running behind it., but Carver had some freakish athletes on that team. Speaking of Carver, I thought about them recently from reading stuff in another thread. I remember when they first moved down to 2A, the few posters they had at that time posted they would be unbeatable in 2A, and we all know how that has turned out, they have never come close to a title since moving down, just goes to show how competitive 2A has always been.

WRH probably the best 2 loss team in the state
Man, they competed so hard vs WF, that loss holds no bearing, in my opinion. It upped my respect for WRH if anything. 14 point loss to the 4AA reigning State Champs is impressive.
Tarboro if in 2a would be #1 on this list
You think so, man? You’re entitled to your opinion, but those Shelby Boys would definitely want that smoke, Burns too, Cleveland County, period. They would definitely have to show us.

I honestly think so, no disrespect. I know our coach at Northeastern would like to schedule Shelby. We will travel. Would love to set it up for next year. Let's make it happen

Undefeated teams left in 2A as of last week: (corrected due to my mistake in research)

N. Lenoir 6-0
Ayden Grifton 4-0
Midway 5-0
Bartlett Yancey 6-0
Randleman 5-0
Oak Grove 5-0
Salisbury 5-0
E. Lincoln 5-0
Chase 5-0

I’m not arguing anything on the original list. It’s cool to see your team’s name on a ranking list. I’m of the opinion that it will all work out anyway come playoff time.

I notice ya'll always want the smoke until that smoke comes from a Meck Cty. powerhouse

Ya'll will bus ALL the way to the smokey mtns for smoke. But let a Meck Cty power house up the street call and somehow the scheduling gets bumbled and boondogled.

If WRH can schedule Wake Forest, Shelby can schedule Mallard Creek. Even this season, I really wanted to see that Vance defense light ya'll up, but it MYSTERIOUSLY fell through the cracks and you have a bye.

I agree, both losses coming on the road to powerhouses Havelock & Wake Forest. Tarboro if in 2a would be #1 on this list and Edenton Holmes would be top 8 as well.

I doubt that, especially this season. I don't even think they could take Burns.
Tarboro is like 1-3(or 1-2) against 2A teams from 704.

Shelby and East Lincoln gave them L's during their 2A title trips.
They barely survived Lincolnton by 3 points.
