I still don't understand all of the people locally and nationwide that want to see Nebraska prove it. At 18-0(7-0) this team is proven and almost any other P4 school with this record would be well inside the top 5. Nebraska has played a tougher Big Ten slate than Michigan or Purdue at this point. This team has to also play with the sins of their past on everyone's mind. It's annoying at this point and unnecessary.

I get the idea of just keep going out and showing them to be wrong, but I can guarantee that they will take a far bigger tumble the first time they lose than any other in the same situation, while struggling harder to climb up the rankings.

Perception matters. We should be a 1 seed in every bracket right now. Then when we lose, we could drop to a 2. Instead, we're a 2 or 3. When we lose, we'll be a 3 or 4. It's ********.
Yeah I really don't care that much about the Huskers' current ranking. But I agree that when NU finally loses, they'll probably drop way farther than they should. Meanwhile a darling like Purdue can get curb-stomped at home by 25 points and it's dismissed as an "off night" and no big deal.

Just keep winning. No doubt voters are looking at our future schedule. Prove it.
Ok. "Just keep winning" no s..t, but the fact that there have only been 11 teams make it to 18-0 since 2010 means they HAVE proven it. It's ridiculous to hold them to a higher standard than the blue bloods because they haven't been there before.

Nebraska has played a tougher Big Ten slate up to this point than anyone in the top tier. The team got into the Creighton-Wisc-Illinois game as a "prove it" week, then when they had to play MSU as a prove it, then carrying it on the road. It's a stupid notion to expect a team that won 17 regular season games last year to still need to prove something after going 18-0 and winning their first 7 in the Big Ten.

It's our brand.....we have none. It's what's keeping the team from getting any respect Is it right? Of course not. But it is what it is. And it's correct......when we do drop our first game, we'll probably get totally dismissed.
