can't hit point blank shots and Tai Webster still plays out of control.

And we're struggling against Sacramento state.

Awesome

Tai Webster reminds me a lot of Tommy Armstrong. Every year, we hear about how much improved he is. And then we see him actually play and we wonder how the hell the coaches thought they saw actual improvement.

Great facilities, fans no high quality recruiting or improvement with time coaching.

Jordy Tshimanga. Looks slow and unathletic.
Jordy looks HUUUUGE and strong. Given some time the kid is gonna be a force in the paint. If you thought he was gonna be a lottery pick you were mistaken. You guys need to go play a game of horse. I suspect that's as far as your talent ever took you.

I turn it on and Webster makes two straight baskets. Thanks for the heads up on the game.

I think their confidence is growing. Maybe first game jitters! Hope Coach doesn't shorten the bench too soon. The babies need their experience.

I have been saying for two years that Miles is not the answer. Caught some mild grief for that view. I want the dude to succeed. Damn! Can we just field a competitive team? I highly doubt Miles gets us there

The sophomores on this team are going to be a really nice nucleus for the next few years. Need a stud point and a 2 and this will be a good team for a couple of years. Jordy is gonna be an enforcer.

I turn on the game and we look good. Let's make sure that I'm watching the game in the 1st half from now on.

He was struggling to get up and down the court. He does have size, lets hope the training table and weight room help him use it. As for the game of horse, name the gym tough guy.

Roby has looked like the freshman he is at times tonight. There will be big days ahead for him in his time here.
He looks very tall for 6'8" Dude has gotten some knuckle draggers though. super long. Runs the court really well and made a really sweet move to pick up a foul. I'm excited to see him progress.

So we looked like World beaters aganst the powerhouse Chadron State, and now some finally realise we really aren't. I found the thread on Chadron State funny. This is more what I have come to expect from TIm Miles, and Nebraska Basketball overall. Been watching since Joe Cipriano was coach.

I do watch, and follow, just sadly.

We won by 22. Did you watch the 2nd half today? No one said we were world beaters.

I've realized one thing with this board. Some people aren't happy unless they are complaining about something. I truly wonder if some people who post here are actually Husker fans.

Seriously. WTF? Do people on this board complain about every single game, every single shot, every single play from scrimmage, every single coach? I love to discuss Husker stuff, but is nothing acceptable?

So, what was funny about the Chadron thread? The fact that Husker basketball was being discussed and some people were happy bball season is here? I didn't see any big predictions. I saw where we knew who the opponent was, but were happy to see some good things. Some observations were made about the players. I guess I don't get it.

We still didn't play all that well. Yeah, we won, Sacramento State is not a good team.
It's the first game of the season, lighten up. The refs had their heads planted firmly up their rears the entire first half. They were called for 5 fouls the entire half, which is about one fifth of what they were committing. Start of the second half, suddenly they start calling them for all the fouls their committing, and Nebraska's lead starts growing very quick. Then, Nebraska gets to about a 20 point lead, and suddenly the refs decide to reinsert their heads into their rear ends, and start letting them do whatever they want again, and calling Nebraska for breathing too close to them.

With the brutal schedule I would be surprised if we made the Big Dance, but I honestly think it will be an interesting year and we will see a much improved team this year. Watson is amazing and it all starts with the point guard.

I am sure it was a conscience effort on the part of the officials. They regularly get together before, during and after games to decide how they are going to control the outcome. They enjoy the experience of feeling like they are in control of big time stuff so want the world to know they are king of their domain at least for a couple of hours. They also enjoy being the reason for losing and the reason for winning knowing no one will be happy with anything they do - it is how they get their jollies. The next day after a game they go to all the message boards to see how much attention they have garnered from the game.
