There's got to be a UK fan (or two!) in Denver who knows a lot about skiing at Breck and Keystone. I got some questions if you don't mind...thanks!

Just got back from Breck. No snow unfortunately, some of the iciest conditions I’ve seen. Still a good time though.
We used to go to Breck back in the day but haven’t been in several years mostly because our kids’ basketball seasons have interfered. Love that place. We rented a house a couple of times but we usually stayed at the Beaver Run Resort which is ski in/ski out. Always went on the Tiger Run Tours (I think that’s what is was called) snow mobile trails on our day off from skiing. Good times.
That's Breck's biggest issue. It's why I liked Steamboat. Much more & consistent snow.

Have you been to Stowe, Vermont to ski? What is your "go-to" ski resort in the northeast and why? Thanks much...looking for new territory to use the Epic pass.
Hey there...thanks for responding. Just got back from Breckenridge and Keystone mid-Jan. Going again soon...I now know that transportation up there can be dicey because of traction laws, chain use, etc. Is there a good way to get up there if I stay in Denver besides trying to use a rental car? Any ride share services there that you know about? Also, have you skied Vail? How is that? Larsen's Ski Shop is a really good place there...they took good care of me and it was very reasonable for good Rossignol skis and boots ($24 per day). Any other info or recommendations much appreciated--thanks!
Beaver Run is on my Epic Pass. Have heard good things about it and would like to go there one of my five skiing days coming up. I'm concerned about getting there...staying in Denver and will have rental car but would like to catch a ride up with others if possible. Any ride sharing in Denver? Thanks for responding!

Steamboat is my personal favorite.
Vail is fine for skiers, lots of catwalks for boarders though.

I wouldn’t stay in Denver. You would be on the road at least 5 hours each day you went skiing in Breck. The resort had a shuttle bus that we took from the airport. The ride was scenic but very curvy and long. Wouldn’t want to take that drive more than “to & from the airport”. The other times that we rented a house we also rented a car for the week but the house was in Breck.
Snow much higher quality out West & more consistent. No reason to go to NE. Now driving to Snowshoe WV is reasonable.
Best idea is to ski UT & stay in SLC burbs towards mountain. 30-45 minutes to 6-7 major resorts.
Vail has the most skiing area, normally high quality snow, & the back bowls are unbeatable. BUT, not friendly to day skiers as long walk from parking, more expensive than most places, but worst of all it can be unbearably crowded with long lift lines.
In CO, for the best snow quality & relative uncrowdedness, Snowmass & Steamboat are tops imo.
Chunkinden on here. He has Diamond plated skis made by Lamborghini. Ask him.
We went to Killington in ‘04 and the skiing was great. We stayed at the Killington Mountain Resort which was ok but not great.
Not sure if your epic pass covers Canada but Whistler Blackcomb was the best ski slopes I have ever traversed. I forget where we stayed but it was a really nice ski in/ski out joint. If interested I will ask the wife if she remembers the name. Also, Whistler is a cool little town.
Agree. Size puts Vail to shame. BUT, at only 2500' base elevation & being near ocean, it can rain & make a mess of a day/week. CO & UT more consistent.
Ha. Maybe. I do live here. I have like 5 great ski mountains within an hour and Vermont mountains are 1 to 3 hours away.
And as I've always said "if you can ski the northeast, you can ski anywhere "
Stowe is fantastic, great small town and Burlington is like 45 min away.
To be honest, I love Okemo. I've never had a bad day there. Conditions have always been perfect. The only thing that stinks is you need to do TWO Chairlifts to get to the good stuff. It's a chairlift that takes you up the beginners and park trails and THEN you ski like 100 feet to another chairlift for the good trails. Still, I've always loved that mountain.
Go to Burlington though.. stay there cause it's an awesome town with good food and drink.. and then drive out to Sugarbush, Stowe, Killington and maybe even Jay peak.
^thats pretty much everywhere out west. You’ll need two lifts to get where you want to be or stuck in base lifts all day.
I grew as poor as you can get in the SE Ky coalfields. Had to go to work out of HS to help my Mom financially with my younger siblings.
I have worked hard to be successful and proud of my accomplishments.

Thanks! Good info, like the others and much appreciated. I recently stayed in Denver, skiing two days and driving up both days...that would not work long term and I'm planning on a week's stay this time. Considered Frisco and Silverthorne...will check that out.
