Caught some trout today and want some ideas on how some of you like to cook it.

I haven't eaten any fresh trout in 20 yrs. Im really not a big fan of freshwater fish but the fish i caught could not be put back in the water because they wouldnt have survived. (I would rather catch and release)

Is there any good marinades or rubs for trout ? Thanks in advance for any help

Re: fresh trout, keep it simple

I like to keep it very simple lightly seasoned and sauteed with butter in a cast iron pan. No need for a rub or marinade on something so beautiful and delicat and fresh as trout out of the river, imo.

Totally agreed. Pan fried is equally good. Anything beyond that is more trouble than it is worth.
