Check out the Bulldog Blitz article: http://mississippistate.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1239756

Here's a telling quote:

Junior forward Wendell Lewis also made an observation. Rather than say his team is working out harder than anyone, he made the true observation that they are working harder than they have in the past.

"It's a lot different," Lewis said. "Last summer, we weren't working out like this. It's something new we're trying to get adjusted to."
Looks like a lot of the right things are being said by our players too... Hopefully this is coming from the heart and not from a "talking to the media" seminar.

I've absolutely lost all faith in Rick Stansbury leading our program. I pray every day that he proves me wrong.

that I know less about basketball than any other sport. But looking at the "potential" talent that is on our roster and comparing it to MSU teams I've watched the past 20 years, this should be one of our better teams. If he screws the pooch this year, you can give up.

..you've already started a creepy Twitter hacking thread bashing Renardo Sidney (which, coincidently was worth it for the sole reason we got to hear how a sixpacker has a more vigorous training regiment than Sidney), but enough is enough.

You must have made some kind of secret deal with coach34 to take up the basketball program bashing while coach34 is on vacation.

When it's 100 degrees outside with 90% humidity, I can't really wrap my mind around basketball. But all I know if this basketball team begins to make noise this winter, I hope you don't have the balls to start praising Sidney & Stansbury.

Because I am going to be all over that like white on rice.

No surprise for you though.

I hope Rick has been taking time off. I hope he got all rested up and rejuvenated. And I hope that he needs all that extra energy to keep coaching all the way to the Final 4.

the 20 lb weight gain of muscle for Moultrie. I think it's pretty obvious something has changed.

It's clear that Rick is doing things differently this offseason. I wonder if it's pressure from Stricklin or if Rick is actually thinking a little bit more this offseason.

This team has the talent to win a lot of games... I hope our coach squeezes every ounce of talent out of this group.

but last year's debacle of a season was nothing short of a complete embarrassment for the fans, the team, and the university. Even I can admit that that Stansbury clearly went into some sort of coast mode about 2-3 years ago, and I think he got a wake up call this past spring when Stricklin didn't extend his contract. Only those two know what was said during the meeting, but I'm betting that Rick quickly found out that he's not as safe as he may have thought.

It sucks that it had to come to that to light a fire under his ***, but something has definitely gotten into him. Now we'll see how long it lasts. I'd be lying if I said that the trip to Amsterdam didn't have me worried.

coaches, players, deaf/mute gray haired fans, Crooms, Bears, Templeton, etc is highly encouraged, ESPECIALLY, when "bashing" is self imposed by said player, coach, etc. by their words and actions. Does that ring a bell, Gene's place is where they are all considered "kids" and you are forbidden to be negative.

..hen-pecking the board when everybody complains about a bad, avoidable loss.

You know, like you did after every baseball loss this past baseball season.

If you think questioning our basketball team in any way is out of line you are out of touch. Pump the brakes chief.

since I've been a part of MSU in 2000. Even in 2003/2004 when we were great, no one knew what we had in Lawrence Roberts and Shane Power.

This week, the local media has finally been allowed to talk to our players and it's not news to you? Sidney is the most talked about basketball player in MSU history and it's not worth discussing how his weight is doing? Rick Stansbury, who lost a lot of his supporters last year, has one of the best recruiting classes in MSU history coming in, has 3 potential NBA draft picks with experience, as well asan NBA quality European potentially coming, and it's not worth talking about? He could lose his damn job if he doesn't succeed this year? It's not worth talking about how he runs the program anymore?

Players are commenting on how different the workload is this summer. It's not worth talking about?
Players who need to gain weightare gaining weight in the offseason in significant amounts. It's not worth talking about? THat's never happened at MSU before.

What should we discuss? Billboards? Alternate nicknames for the TSUN? The all-star game (I already discussed this)? MLB trade deadline (already discussed this)? Upcoming college football stuff (already discussing this)?

Give me some options and I'll try to limit my posting to your menu.

This is Stans' most talented team ever and he is still going to blow it

Even though he has 2 dominant big men in the RSS and Moultrie, he will still insist that we live and die by the threeball while running a motionless offense.

All Stans can do is clap like a woman, twirl his finger in the air, and hold up his hands (for the stall)

And speaking of the stall, no lead will be safe this year.

I don't know why any of you even bother going o games or watching them on TV while Stans is coaching.

You know ronny, your and dubmass. I used to wantyou banned, due to your complete lack of sports knowledge and ability to add nothing whatsoever to a thread, but I've changed my opinion. I now find your posts hilarious. I love reading them to see how someone can be as dumb as you. Please keep it up and don't ever threaten a self-ban again (forthe fourth fifth time). Keep up the terrible posts!

from the biscuits on BDB that Lewis gained 17 pounds of muscle this off-season. Something is drastically different.
