Need some Houston information

Thinking of taking the family to the Houston game and then catching the Texans game Sunday. Would like some information from someone familiar with the area on lodging and stuff to do with kids 7 and 9. Thanks,

staying in the med center area is a safe bet. Rice Village has tons of shops and bars and restaurants. The museum district is close by with a couple really good museums (children's, medicine, science) and the zoo is right there as well. If all else fails and its warm, let them run through the fountains in Hermann Park.
