We dislike the jerseys, the coaches, the stadium, the kickoff times, the hotdogs, the state, county, and city's liquor laws, and being 7-2 instead of 8-1.

I'm starting to think the Saints winning the Super Bowl and Mullen bringing expectations to State are the worst things that ever happened to my fanhood.

Seriously, how different would this board look if our schedule

was, for example...

Jackson State, W, 56-9

@Alabama, L, 7-38

South Alabama, W, 30-10

Texas A&M, L, 13-38

@Troy, W, 30-24

Middle Tennessee, W, 45-3

@Kentucky, W, 27-14

Auburn, W, 28-10

Tennessee, W, 41-31

Good point, most people's attitude would be different. The problem with the way our schedule is laid out, people are worried how we can bounce back after 3 straight bad losses(Assuming LSU will be). And so am I.

I was thinking about that yesterday. Put these last two losses at the start of the year and everyone would be jacked up over being 7-2 and heading into Baton Rouge. Instead, EVERYTHING associated with MSU football sucks now. The cups, the fans, the music, the coaches, the players, the promotions, the uniforms, etc.

After fuming for three days I have come around to thinking we will finish 9-3 and likely get a Peach Bowl (I hope and pray). When all is said and done that is a damn good year.

Because this would be more realistic...

Jackson State, W, 56-9

@Alabama, L, 7-38

South Alabama, W, 21-17

Texas A&M, L, 13-38

@Troy, L, 30-24

Middle Tennessee, W, 14-7

@Kentucky, L, 27-21

Auburn, W, 3-2

Tennessee, L, 41-31

A great team doesn't let emotion or momentum lose games for them. Alabama lost the battle of mo Saturday night, but they weren't about to accept a loss to LSU no matter how good LSU was playing or how loud it was.

I can't accept this bull about how our team needs to find their identity and they didn't know where they stood until they played Bama. Mullen has been coaching these guys for 4 years! They should know who they are, where they stand, and how they stack up against others. Alabama hasn't changed or come out flat against good teams because they had a soft schedule at the beginning. As an etablished team you must go out there week in and week out and play your game to the best of your ability and never give up! You have to come out onto the field with a chip on your shoulder and full of energy every game when you are playing in the SEC.

With all of this said, I knew we would get beat by Alabama, aTm, and LSU and I was ok with that. What I'm not okay with is being embarrased as a fan, and a contributing Alumni, by a team that lays down and gives up.

This times 1000. Some people are not understanding that 7&2, while a good record and what damn near everyone expected, is not the issue. The issue is how we got to the "&2".

It's the typical knee jerk reaction that happens on here after a loss. That will never change.

That's a ridiculous example because your scenario shows improvement. The last two weeks, instead, have shown our ability to tuck tail and wish it was over. That's why everyone is pissed. You're basically saying no one would be upset if we were getting better. No kidding.
