so what if we won ugly?We are going to get exactly what the RuNdAbAwLeRs want and it likely won't be pretty.
Ugly wins are far better than pretty losses. If State can be successful at running the football with a mobile QB, State would be able to eat clock and control time of possession. You would also have the RB room to hand the ball off to as well. If Shapen isn't ready to go on Saturday, you've got to play with the cards you are dealt. You can still have a passing attack as well, so you don't have to scrap the pass. The main thing is to find a way to keep the drives alive without stalling.so what if we won ugly?
We'll definitely run whatever read option plays Lebby has installed and we'll pick up some rushing from QB scrambles, but we're not going to suddenly look like a triple option team with Kamario. Unless you are involving KT in the run to put the offense in a +1 running situation, having a running QB isn't going to magically make our OL better when doing regular run plays, and I don't think Lebby's offense can just be converted to a read option offense on the fly because Kamario is back there. We're already something like 55% rush I think. We probably move to like 60% with KT back there. Meaningful for sure, but not sure it's going to look like some crazy change in philosophy. We are going to get exactly what the RuNdAbAwLeRs want and it likely won't be pretty.
