Other thing with NET is it has just as much to do with what your previous wins did. Looking at yesterday, A&M lost, Ole Miss lost, SMU lost, Pitt lost, Georgia lost, you see my point 5 of our 7 Q1 wins got dinged a little yesterday, so that played as much of a role as us losing.

I mean that’s not much of a drop. I think worst case scenario it dropped us from a low end 5 seed to maybe a firm 6 seed. But we were borderline 5/6 anyway. More of a missed opportunity than a punishing loss.
You see a half full glass. Move it aside and look at the half empty one. We lost a game we were favored in, to the 14th place team in our conference, that had lost 5 games in a row, were 3-10 coming into the game, and we play AL Tuesday night on the road.

Like was said multiple times yesterday, OU is not a bad basketball team, but they sure as heck aren’t good either.

At the end of the day, an SEC team isn’t going to get many better chances at a conference win, and we badly missed a great opportunity. Once upon a time, we had a legit shot at a seed as high as a 3, but continuing to lose games like this isn’t going to get it done. I think this team just is what it is at this point. One that’s capable of beating very good teams, but you’re just not going to get that effort consistently

I don’t even think my take is glass half full, it’s objective facts. We lost a Q1 road game and our seeding is barely going to budge. Sure we’d rather win it it and get a boost. But it’s not even optimism to say we are still a borderline 5 or 6 seed. It’s the objective unbiased truth.
