My son was sworn into the Marines yesterday afternoon. Proud moment yet a bitter sweet moment given what today represents. Scary place in today's world.

Congrats. Jarheads aren't the brightest crayons in the box, but they're alright Winking

Here’s Eleanor Roosevelt, her thoughts on the USMC.

“The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!”

Congrats! We are a few weeks into life with an 18-year-old Army infantryman and paratrooper. Quite the adventure for young soldiers and their parents - hang in there!Smokin

I was getting ready for classes in college on this day and now work for a company that doesn't work on this day. It is a life changing event and should alway remind people that evil can touch you at anytime. Its what we do after that. That makes us who we are.

I did a stint recruiting for the Navy at the end of my career and was outside the recruiting offices of all branches with 2 Army guys 1 Marine and the Air force recruiter.

We were bashing each other and then we all piled on the Air force recruiter, it was glorious.....

Then he said yeah well, we salute our officers and they go off to die, you salute your officers and you go to die...

We all had nothin'

If you’ve never watched this movie before it’s a good show. HBO will probably never play it again because it’s not PC. “Path to paradise” aired in 1997. The last line of the movie may not be an exact quote, but it was something similar to that. Too bad more people hadn’t seen before 9/11.

With all the former Marines I work with I can’t believe I’ve never heard that before. That’s awesome!
