So excited for this one. Merrill feels like a tough match up for Mocco right now. So strong and solid with great feet. Mocco is still growing into his frame a bit. Not worried at all about Mocco. Excited to see how he stacks up right now. Should be the first of many great match ups.
Has a size and strength advantage now, but that should shrink 2-3 years from now. Mocco is taller with a bigger frame to add good weight to, like Keuter. Hopefully he puts weight on earlier than Ben.
Absolutely. He's going to whip Mocco again. 2-3 years from now might be a different story. We will see.
I really do wish that door was left at least a crack open and Bassetts could reconsider. But, I think there is just too much bad vibes on both sides and the ship has sailed.

Agreed. That match was a good example of what many have been saying. Merrill has 30 lbs on Mocco and didn't score any points on moves that count for points in folkstyle, while Mocco frequently got to the legs and had the only TD.
Merrill is good, but he's going to struggle big time with Mocco + 30 more lbs.
I actually wasn't aware they had wrestled earlier this summer. Big time improvement from Mocco this time around. I left this match thinking Mocco was the more talented wrestler.
Sucks that we’ve just missed getting Mocco/Ross this entire summer.
You should watch the two matches they wrestled in the last few months. Merrill is legit.

Damn. Big Mocco loses in the semifinals to Merrill and little Mocco loses to Hutcherson. Iowa needs to get Hutcherson and Little Mocco. Ross looks phenomenal. Just saying...

We will soon see, but I disagree. There are some really good young HWTs coming on the scene in the next few years.
Mocco won 5-2 to close out his tournament.

Merrill's size advantage won him that match, but I remain confident in Mocco going forward. As others have said, though, I really wanted to see him and Dreshaun tangle.
It was an odd prediction. Similar to Mocco, size is an issue. If Ross stays healthy he will widen that gap.

Mocco is a totally different type of wrestler than his dad. He already is more athletic and quick, with a much more varied offense with many leg attacks. He just needs to add some of his dad’s thickness and power and he will be a top college heavy.
I agree. I think he will be just fine in college when he puts on a little more weight.

Never been a concern for PSU. Shouldn't be a concern with Iowa.
These are 197/HWT types. Would be a concern anywhere. If they were low to mid-weight guys, much less of a concern. Not that I don't get your point.

I would guess Little Mocco is a HWY and Hutcherson a 197. so little Mocco doesn't really make sense given that his brother likely takes an Oly RS with Keuter blocking him, there would be too much overlap with both Moccos - but who knows
