For now on whenever an IF goes back on a ball, and there's a runner on 1st and less than 2 outs, but can't quite get to it, just stop and 'camp' like you're under it. the ump will HAVE to call IF fly rule (after all, that whole crew is now saying Holbrook made the right call tonight), so you get a free out.

Has to be runners on first AND second for the infield fly rule to apply. Doesn't work with just a runner on first.

This is correct.

We were actually taught in high school if the situation was right to purposefully boot the popup once infield fly was called to try to get one of the runners to jump. Never saw it actually work though.

Also taught on a sac bunt with a runner on first that if you see up angle to catch it on the short hop(purposefully let it hit the ground) and throw the guy out at first. Then you've got the lead runner in a rundown because he had to freeze thinking you were going to catch it in the air. This worked more often than you would think.

Clearly, I'm starved to talk about fundamentally sound baseball, because I dang sure didn't see any of it played today. Same chokejob I have come to expect from the Braves...
