Can't disagree with this post at all, good post IMO. I would be stunned if it was a boat racing, but your analysis makes a lot of sense.

I think Indiana can stay in the game because they can control the clock/ball on offense and stop the run on defense.
I hope IU gets boatraced but I think IU is better than last year, especially at QB. As several have mentioned. OSU's run game is their offensive weakness. IU will have to find a way to shutdown OSU's play-action deep passing game.
Defensively, OSU's defense is even better this year and could cause Mendoza some problems with pressure that will get home more than PSU was able.

Shortchange? I am giving them full credit. They came to play last week like we expected all season long. They showed a lot of wholes and gaps in Indiana and OSU will take full advantage of those this week.
Didn't mean it offensively at all.

I just meant, in saying don't shortchange what Penn State did, don't assume Ohio State can easily take advantage of what Penn State was able to unlock against Indiana.

Yeah, agree with all of that.

I will be shocked, stunned, if anyone shuts down the Indiana run and pass like Penn State did last week. Longest RB run was 11 yards, and RBs averaged sub 4 yds a carry. This from a team that came in averaging over 250 yards a game.

The QB wound up 19/30, and not that I find it all that compelling, but Grunk supposedly had a better QBR last week of the 2 QBs.

They did the thing on D. Just didn't get the last stop, but would have been nice if they didn't need to (by closing it out on O the drive before).

The article said that some former PSU players who played for Daboll are pushing for him to at least get an interview

no real evidence that they’re interested in Lea, only speculation

Pat Fitzgerald has some strong supporters at PSU

PSU has interest in Al Golden

And we were short handed.

I know right?

Cig has turned the world on its side.

I don’t think they’ll beat Ohio State but I won’t by surprised either.
I don't think their offensive line can hold up to beat them but it will be the best offense OSU has faced by a mile. Although Underwood and the rest of the Cheaters will test them also, of course helped by OSU obliging and playing their worst game vs them.

Phil Grosz may eventually be proven right.

My take:
- Fitzgerald, no thanks. Was not a consistent winner or B1G contender at NW.
- Al Golden, no thanks. Excellent recruiter and it ends there. Average DC at ND. Failing as DC with Bengals in NFL. Did well at Temple as HC. Stunk at Miami as HC.
- Daboll. No thanks. Supposed QB whisperer but that is 50/50. Does he have any previous college coaching experience?

I'd take Bob Chesney over any of those three if Deboer, Key, or Brohm are a no go.

Daboll was the OC on Bama’s 2017 championship team but with Ridley, Smith Jeudy and Ruggs at WR I could have been OC.

Daboll, ok. Not thrilled but ok.
Fitzgerald LOL
Al Golden LOL

Handling this process about as well as Nebraska did post-Solich if these are the directions being travelled.

Edit: If these 3 are truly in the running, why not interview the guy who won 7 and 8 games with 40 scholarships and who was a better NFL coach?

If we cannot get Elko which is a very long shot. Also I like Hartline but he will leave for OSU eventually. Key ok Let's talk Bob Chesney of James Madison , an up and comer. If not us he will be the next Maryland coach and will give us fits recruiting in the DMV

Years ago before CJF got the job he posted that Golden was going to be the next head coach and took a shellacking for it. No disrespect, always liked Phil and followed him for years.
Phil was right. Joyner got all tangled up in his underwear so it didn't happen.

Both of IU's lines are OK but they lack athletes at LB and DB. That's where OSU will kill them.

I can see the promotion already. Buy a Penn State ticket get a Daboli and a cannoli.

If Daboll were an existing college coach with a staff, then I think that we would be an interesting candidate, as I like his emotion and he obviously did a good job when he was at Buffalo and in one season with the Giants, However, we need somebody who is going to bring most of his assistants and several of his current players and recruits. If we don't do the latter, then this program most likely s going to go through a few and maybe several seasons like the current one. If we do the latter, then I believe that we can mitigate the transition for a few seasons.
