Probably should hire a coach soon so you can actually have more than 1 recruit in your class unless you want to be like Deion Sanders and have 50 transfers every year and suck.

That's not true at all...that's he's the only one that wants it

I hope somebody else wants it. What about Fitzgerald or Al Golden, do they want it? If Chesney and Hartline say no, then give them a call.

I just hope they find an actual coach at this point. Terry Smith is a nice guy, but it would pretty much be the players coaching themselves. He would let them do whatever they want, which means complacency, not winning, this season over and over again, etc.

Confirmation that Kalshi odds are pointless, as expected. IDK why so many keep sharing their "odds," it's based on nothing but web chatter and is easily manipulated. I'm sure Kalshi pocketed a ton of money by playing with the odds and influencing the numbers though, reports were they took over $1M in bets on the PSU coaching search alone. A fool and his money are soon parted.

I mean, Patty Fitz would take it in a heartbeat but I don't think we've reached that point.

This Kiffin stuff is going spur major timeline changes in CFB. Pribula was bad enough last year this is 10x.
Doubtful. The things that need to change would involve either changing the academic calendar (not happening) or shrinking the playoff and making sure it ends earlier. The latter is a direct conflict of the decision makers #1 priority, making money. So that's not happening either.

Oddly, it seems like he was the only coach of the two this year willing to take charge of the players and assistants and get them to follow his lead.

Pat Fitzgerald….hell no. Why does his name still come up? What an underwhelming hire that would be. That should get Kraft fired.

Hartline makes $2 million at OSU. We would pay him at least $9 million.
That's too high for a first time head coach unless Kraft is completely stuck and Hartline has a ton of leverage. Established coaches make less. For example Sumrall's deal at UF is expected to be less than $9M. The first few years of Franklin's deal at VT are under $9M/year.

It's not him it's just that he's the last-minute best guess. I should have stated it that way.

It's either Terry Smith or the mystery candidate which I put at 50-50 at best. If it's Terry Smith, we should know today or sometime tomorrow at the latest. If it's not Terry Smith, then they are praying hoping waiting for said mystery candidate to sign.
Well that’s unsettling.

The SEC openings appear to be filled. Penn State may end up being the last of the major conference teams to hire a coach.

Before everybody bashes BYU coach you should actually do research on him. Excellent recruiter, great culture guy etc. Who gives a crap if he has no PA ties neither does Deboer who everybody wants.
I haven’t seen one person bashing him. It’s just a surprising choice. Half his team is from Utah and there’s ONE player from the east coast.

I just checked his Wiki page and it has him listed as the PSU’s head coach.

OK, but even $7 million is a lot more than $2 million. It's also an opportunity to become a head coach at an historically top university.
