We can use some reasoning here now that the regular season is over. Unless we hear something in the next day it is not a college guy whose season is over. That would be announced.
It would not be a NFL guy because that could have been announced already. We are not waiting until the beginning of Jan to hire an NFL coordinator.
A guy out of a job would have been hired.
So that leaves a college guy who is involved or could be involved in the playoff.

Penn State should make one last call to Urban Meyer to see if he still has the cyst and gets the headaches. If it's true, the sun in Central Pennsylvania is much easier to handle if you have a bunch of migraines. I've been other places, giant headaches because it's bright as hell. Happy Valley is natural aspirin.
Since they probably won't do that, I still think Chesney is the best of the rest. I don't think Hartline would really do it. Too much of a Buckeye, whereas Urban has been around.

Look at this way. Looking around college football with all the openings only one can be considered a HR hire and that would be Kiffin. Now most if not all traffic has been cleared from the runway leaving PS. So, when the announcement is made no matter who it is they may get maximum exposure that day. Not saying that's the holdup but just something to think about.
This is a fair point. Think of what it would be like if he was still here and we would all be wondering when the announcement would be that he wasn't coming back, because whatever season he would have salvaged after 3-3 would not have been good enough to keep on with.
