New Dates Set for All But One Shenandoah District Game

As expected, our local AD's are working hard to check those calendars to re-schedule the games that were snowed out last night and tonight. All but one has been officially re-scheduled, and those two fellows
are most likely still in the discussion stages. So here is where we stand at the moment...............

NELSON COUNTY AT BUFFALO GAP: Originally scheduled for Monday, they are going to try on the following Monday, February 2nd.

ALLGHANY AT STAUNTON: Originally scheduled for tonight, they are going to try to squeeze this one in ASAP, so it is now set for Thursday night the 29th. Should be a main event that night!

ROCKBRIDGE AT WAYNESBORO: They will be joining Buffalo Gap and will try to get their game played Monday night the 2nd.

RIVERHEADS AT BUFFALO GAP: They are delaying this one a bit further, to Wednesday night, February 11th.

FORT DEFIANCE AT STUARTS DRAFT: No new date set yet, but I am sure the word will be along soon.

With Alleghany and Staunton trying to play Thursday, that might seem to indicate that this weekend's regularly-scheduled slate of games may go on as planned, but we will check in on that later in the week.

Update on the Alleghany at Staunton game. It has now been announced that schools will be closed in the area again on Thursday. I think that decision is based on the extremely cold nighttime temperatures as much or more so than road conditions.

So their game is now moved to Saturday the 31st but it will be an afternoon game, with the JV tip-off starting at 2:00. However, keep in mind that there is talk of more snow headed this way sometime this weekend, so it might not happen then either.

As for our Friday night games, Staunton is the one that has the night off but there are four games scheduled involving the other eight Shenandoah teams. I will be back on Friday with a report on the status of those games.
