if that is the case then i don't love that, but his resume is pretty damn good.
Did you ever think that the reason Butler is gone is that he was judged not the be a fit to what Rhule wanted. Maybe Rhule is wrong, but he apparently thinks that the DL players on the roster were capable of playing better defense at the LOS than they did and that was ultimately about the choice of how they were played. If this is the case, I am not surprised that we are hearing about Robinson. An advantage of "hiring your friends" is that often there is zero confusion between you and them as to what you want to do.
The guy we hired has coordinated very good defenses stat wise and parlayed that success into a P4 coordinating gig. He'll be a rookie at that. If I were that guy, I'd appreciate all of the proven coaching talent I could get in the building.

he's gone because he sucked. full stop, not reading the rest of your rant.

Pretty immediately took a defense in the 100s to top 10, so I'd say so. Of the people available to hire, it doesn't get much better than those results.

Sorry but the job is currently toxic right now.

1. There’s a lot of people (not just Husker fans) that are questioning Matt’s ability to be a HC. Get your panties in a bunch all you want. But when a coach puts together as many losing & .500-ish seasons as Matt and has an over all losing record in 13 years. Yeah that’s a red flag. His potential as a dead man walking or the potential he will have to continue to make moves is high

2. This will be our 3rd DC in 3 years. Not a good look

3. coordinator's want to be in charge of their units. They don’t want the coach undermining every move they make especially in front of the players: of course coaches can ask questions, make comments but there is a fine line. If we talk about Rhule’s struggler to let his coaches coach, and him to be a CEO role, then coaches are talking about it too.

4. And no coordinator wants a buffer between him and the HC. Phil Snow is a liability. Not an asset. Its the HC job to supervise the coordinators, not some guy who the game past up long ago. Stop jerking off pat mcafee and work on scheme. Stop trying to play Fonzie by putting two fingers up and going “ayyy”

5. next year schedule will be tuff. The DC is going to have to have think skin and likely take a lot of heat.

So of course we weren’t getting a top DC. It was always going to be someone whose hungry.
Next year’s schedule is going to be tough and 2027 is going to be the same or tougher. I am call just like one of the anchors on election night. Matthew Kenneth Rhule will be gone by Christmas 2027. He is a man with no plan. Oh, he is good at say little like, “Never tell me what my players can’t do, tell me what they
Nebraska leads the country by a wide margin of having its local shills feed the public with the company line.

Personally I'm willing to give the guy a chance. I like the idea of a young, hungry, up and coming DC coming in here and seeing what they can do. I'm also fully in support of the 4-2-5.

I will say though given what Eckler was able to do this year with special teams and what Cignetti was able to do quickly at Indiana fans rightfully so are expecting results immediately. We're going to find out very quickly if this guy can improve our defense. If he can't it could be Rhule who is next.
