Happy to see an empty storefront get filled and I hope it goes well. However the name has me craving a decent hoagie and wanting to answer the phone with “Hello, I’m hungry.”

They would have to buy the stickies just like everyone else and grill them. They could Make their own stickies if that is what they want to do. Hope they will do well. Tough location.

on Garner St.

It's in the former Oeuf Boeuf et Bacon, which was previously Baby's Burgers and Shakes.

And before that it was Pedro's.

There used to be a credit card commercial that involved Baby's. The waitress in the commercial was in a class where I was a TA. It was a low level math class.

Years ago, Baby’s was featured in a Visa card radio commercial. “It’s everywhere you want to be.”

After Baby’s, I always thought that Oof Boof place sounded like a bad idea. Never ate there. Did anyone here try it?

Here’s hoping the new place is more of a traditional diner and can survive.

Crazy quasi - Baby's story for you all.... I had a former roommate who just spent so much time partying the first three weeks of school that he knew he could not make it up and decided to withdraw for the semester. He took his tuition refund percentage (that his parents had paid themselves in full) and began to work at Babys so that he could still live in the apartment and pretend to be a college student to his parents. Right before Thanksgiving break he suddenly quit at Babys and said he was going to go visit some HS friends for a few days before heading home to see family. He had left a couple weekends prior to go visit the same friends so it was nothing unusual.

When the rest of us in the apartment came back Saturday for the MSU game, we got a call from Baby's and the SCPD. They were questioning all of us regarding counterfeit money that had been found in the area. Seems his friends from HS made some fake 20's when he visited in October and he was spending them in various SC area shops. I guess he was exchanging fakes for real ones in the till there and then also paying for stuff at McClanahans and other places in cash.

We had no idea about any of it but the kid never came back after break. SCPD called a few other times just to check in for him but the kid vanishedfor at least a couple years. We eventually saw him on social media, so I guess he didnt serve much time if any.

It was a good idea, just a bad location. In this area, people have certain expectations of a diner and a French restaurant, and they are widely different expectations. I ate there four times. The food was good, the service was very slow, and the cassoulet was delicious.

That was La Bamba, a block away on Sowers. Where La Bamba was has been “Are U Hungry” for quite a while, but it looks like they went out of business.

La Bamba
Loved La Bamba, that was the late night spot of choice for my crew. There are many big burrito chains out there but most do not come close. Of course, perhaps I am not in the same state as I was at 3 AM and 20 years old to give a proper evaluation.

That is such a tough location for non-students. I'm not sure how BWW's will do with nonstudent crowds. I am not a there is nowhere to park in town guys. There are plenty of places to park you just have to pay, but saying that the area around there is really tough.
