The only school that I see that moved to a different district is Patrick County to the Three Rivers District There are a lot of schools that could and should move to a lower district.

Both the Tidewater area and the Richmond area have more than enough schools to each create a new 3a/4a district that would help balance out the competition for the schools. I do not know why they do not do that.

Ok Springer and HSHS fans, how do you feel about moving up to Class 6?
I've been expecting it. It's been a topic since they started construction of the new school. My sentiments on it... we will lose the Region playoffs with matchups against Hermitage, Bird, etc. Then, the showdown with Stone Bridge or Maury will certainly be missed! Class 6... bring it!!! I can see big rivalries between HS and Oscar Smith, South County, Thomas Dale, Manchester and more. I think it will be exciting!

Class 6 needed some more input from the 804; surprised tho by Glen Allen. They are on the cusp and could appeal to stay in 5B. MBK has the numbers but most of the new kids are hispanic and not interested in football but they have a nice futbol team under the new coach.

BTW: the title is incorrect; they in the same district but new Region!

It's crazy that Highland Springs and Oscar Smith will now be in the same Region!

The matchups with Dale, Manchester and Oscar Smith will be exciting to say the very least.

If I were Glen Allen I would appeal to stay in 5. Tough road ahead playoff wise by staying in 6A.

agreed
but on the other hand they will play their same schedule and just meet the big boys in the football playoffs. they have state championship teams in other sports.

Danny Lewis @CRF4Dan

Over the weekend someone said we would hear something yesterday or today. I know Sean Robertson at WTVR6 posted this morning that sources told him the Chesterfield District did not win approval. it was voted down 5-0 in a meeting earlier on Monday.

there are not enough big schools out west to even have a region in C6 or C5 those schools are being paired with the RVA area schools.
Oscar smith is not a RVA school! They are Chesapeake. Chesapeake is a longer ride from Roanoke than it is to nova for PH.

Fleming & FC are being paired with the RVA teams, because they won their appeal. PH was hoping to do the same, but their appeal was denied because the enrollment put them in C6.
