I stood just about where that was taken and it is striking how different the stadium looks with the expansion in place. The pictures do it zero justice. The people who will see it first in game one is in for a surprise.

The Mississippi layout in the entrance way is a nice touch. Hadn't seen that before.

I could be an *** and point out it doesn't look like it's shaped correctly, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt it's just the angle of the photo.

I thought it was supposed to be the other way, so that it's geographically correct as you walk in. But whatever.

On the NCAA front, someone will update last years game rosters for this year, I'm sure. So you'll just have to download that.

They already have, somewhat anyway. Someone did them post signing day. The player rating aren't very accurate but last years seniors and this years freshman are on it. It's not completely accurate but I'm betting once the season starts a more accurate one will come out.

I really hope they turn that Very Nice State of MS around. On one of the exterior renderings you can see it & its facing towards you. Its nice, but the Wow Factor isnt gonna be as great as it would if it were flipped. IMO. I wonder if its a mistake?

In pic 31, that is one hell of a glory hole.

The stadium looks fantastic. That grand staircase, elevator tower, and gated entrance are outstanding.

I think on the orientation of the state deal, they were going for the interior view. I know it was shown differently in the renderings, but maybe they called an audible.?...would be nice to get a follow-up from the A dept.

Hope it has a great anti-graffiti coating. You just know some TSUNer is going to mark Lafayette county at some point.

It's mentioned in another thread but Stricklin said on Twitter that wasn't the final design. They wanted it true north and south. Someone said it would look better for the view from the concourse...which is true but how many more people will just see it from ground level when they enter.

It's a small change that only a couple will notice and care about but I thought it looked better flipped as well.

Any idea how they are going to approach the sound aspect of the two boards? I'm curious if both will produce sound or if they'll rely soley on the sound of the 1st board? We need to jump on recroding some stadium cowbell noise and pump that recording through the speakers......that is until the center gets of the ball of course.

The new board will not have speakers. My bet is that they make very little adjustment to the sound.... Meaning if you sit between the 30s, your ears will bleed and everywhere else, you can't hear ****.

And is the new board just going to duplicate the old board or do they have some clever things in mind using both boards?

Stricklin has said this season - they will not make any sound adjustments. They are going to use this year to see what needs to be done for next season.

Why would it matter that its true north and south?.....

That makes no sense. The view from the concourse explanation makes sense though. One thing is for sure. I don't see how you change it now without starting over.

What would be cool is if there is a nearby ramp or some other elevated position that one can take photos of the map with friends/family standing on their county. Gotta think that would be a popular thing to do.

I still think the new jumbotron looks stupid jutting out of the expansion like that. Dual smaller screens in the corners would have been much more impressive.

Then, of course, we could have pulled off the Spies Like Us laser scene.

It obviously won't be Kentucky or Vandy since they have outrecruited us.

But we have the liberty of signing high risk high reward players since we aren't in the running for any high profile recruits! That's how we get these diamonds in the rough, idiot.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

What were they thinking?

No doubt, mistake....
