I think Euells is going to play QB for his HS team this year, so that kind of tells you what kind of athlete he is.

This guy has options. In two to three years, having him at one end and Fletcher Cox at the other? Wow.

Mark it down right now, though. Other schools aren't done. He's the type recruit nobody will back off of no matter how committed he says he is.

At the same time though, he's already gotten the big fish to bite. He already has offers from georgia, alabama, and LSU. Its not like some big school is going to come in and swoop him up late. He just picked us over all of them. Absolutely huge get

....just like Chris Garrett did. I'm happy he committed. I'll be thrilled for the program when he signs.

Bigtime prospect. Good to see Mullen reel this one in, and hopefully some will follow suit.

We must have done something good. It's been said for weeks that Eulls order of schools, in order, was MSU, Alabama and USM. I don't think the Rebels were in it. It looks the spirit is now claiming that Carlos Thompson is the better D end.

As of now:

Carlos Thompson offers: Baylor, Auburn, MSU, UM, Vandy
Kaleb Eulls offers: MSU, UGA, Bama, Auburn, LSU, USM

That's their M-O. Many of them still haven't gotten over the Orgeron days of recruiting when early commits and being ranked highly in the early recruiting rankings of June and July meant a lot to them.

committed to us before he had an offer from lsu. The story as I remember it was that he actively sought an offer from saban and didn't get it and then went over to lsu, got an offer from them and took it. From what I kept reading, the consensus seemed to be that he always thought he was too good for us. Let the sorry jackass smell like a corndog the rest of his life.

They realize those early commits that got you ranked so high are the guys you're winning with now.

God telling him to go to Baton Rouge. Like God has ever told anybody to do that who hasn't done something horribly sinful.

In actuality, Orgeron's early commitments (through July) in 2006 & 2007 are largely non-contributers & non-qualifiers. He did his best work in the winter. Damn good pick-up with Eulls though. Congrats.

2006
Terry Levy (sat out a year and still couldn't qualify, went to Butler CC, then to West Alabama)
Kendrick Lewis (good player)
Aubrey McPhadden (could never qualify)
Laderrick Vaughn (scout team type)
Shay Hodge (good player)
Michael Herrick (transfered to No. Arizona)

2007
Chris Strong (flunked out)
Jamison Hughes (transferred to USM, then went juco)
Johnny Brown (should start at safety this season)
Bradley Sowell (should start at LT this season)
Ted Laurent (started 7 games in 08)
Rishaw Johnson (should get first start in 09)
David Rue (didn't qualify)
Isiah Smith (very marginal scout type player, transferred to smaller school)

They realize those early commits that got you ranked so high are the guys you're winning with now.

Take a look at our 2007 class. We had 12 commitments prior to the release of the first recruiting rankings that year, and those 12 commits got us ranked No. 4 in the first Rivals ranking.

Of those 12 commitments, only 4 ended up signing with us, and only 2 (Bradley Sowell and Johnny Brown) are still on the team. The rest were either dropped due to grades, they quit, flunked out, or they ended up signing elsewhere. Some of our fans would still prefer that, even though we ended up landing only 1 of the final 10 players on our board before signing day that signing class (Rod Davis, and he didn't qualify). I'd much rather have a class where we bring in our full allotment and most of them actually stand a chance of sticking with the team for more than a year.

Even in the best class we ever signed under Orgeron (2006), the best two players were Greg Hardy and Dexter McCluster, both underrated 3 stars that weren't talked about a whole bunch during the recruiting process. 2007 was really the only year we had a bunch of early commits that had us ranked highly in the recruiting rankings, and that class, with hindsight, was awful.

Sheep 1: How do you pronounce our new kicker's name (Brauchle(sp?))?
Sheep 2: Like the vegetable.
Sheep 1: Which vegetable?

That was the frist guy that came to mind. Bernard Euell was a WR and played some QB at Bama the time all our QBs were hurt.

I hate we're not getting him. Top notch prospect. I don't subscribe to the Spirit, btw, and pretty much my buddies that do keep up w/ recruiting (Ole Miss buddies) all pretty much agree that he's a major pick up that we'd love to have.

If it's validation you're looking for?...there you go. If it's jump off the roof desperation or denial?...you've made a good choice in visiting the Spirit.

I thought I read where Auburn was close to offering. Quentin Groves is his brother, so you would think Auburn offers him.
