But i think he only played the Fall 2011 season. I'm not sure if his semi-enrollment in JuCo in 09 started his clock or not, because the press releases for last season referred to him as a "freshman". I dunno.

didn't get in, so he signed with UAB and never enrolled, sat out a year(2010 season). None of this counted against his eligibility in ANY way.

Intended to walk on at OM, but didn't...signed with NWCC(played 2011 as a FR, will be a SO this season)...

Was an "honorable mention" for JUCO All-American as a linebacker last season as a Freshman, as shown here:

Will be a normal JUCO player with 3 to play 2 when/if he enrolls in a 4yr institution after this season.

OM & MSU are both trying that angle, but it looks futile. The waivers are usually for serious special situations...illness, military service, etc. Doesn't cover "I didn't know I had to withdraw".

I can't read the article, so I have no idea what it says outside of your quote. I do not pay Steve and Yancy for their constant misinformation. But this is what I do know...

Northwest plays football on their Senatobia campus. If he was in school on the Oxford campus, he was obviously not under football scholarship, and was simply there to go to school. Steve worded that to be intentionally misleading. The 3rd and 4th sentences should come before the 2nd sentence. You don't lose athletics eligibility simply by going to school and dropping out when your not on scholarship. I graduated college in 2007, and I still have 3 to play 2 in baseball and 5 to play 4 in football, should I decide I want to go back with a new major and take classes.

IF what your describing is true, how can he play at Northwest next year? NJCAA rules only allow 2 years of game eligibility(just like NCAA only allows 4), or 3 to play 2. IF his dropout year @ Northwest year cost him full eligiblity, he'd be done @ JUCO this May. That would leave him with 3 to play 2 @ a 4yr school. IF it cost him a redshirt year, he'd be able to play @ Northwest next season, and he'd have 2 to play 2 @ a 4yr school.
Basically, there is no possible way that your logic works out...

Mullen isn't chasing him because he's a 5'11" 190 lb guy listed at linebacker. That would be a pretty good reason for Mullen to not offer. What position do you believe he could play for us? As a LB, he won't make our board. As a S, he would be way down our list. Whitley still has 2 years, Arrington still has 3, Redmond has 4, Market has 4, Hughes has 3, Wells has 3 etc. We're not hurting at S... and I suspect that if we take a JUCO, Justin Cox is the high priority.

ETA: Unless I'm badly misunderstanding something about how the NCAA eligibility rules work, which is possible... It's almost impossible to find the fine print on said rules in the NCAA rulebook...

But his enrollment in the fall of 09 started his NCAA clock. Therefore Fall 2012 will be his 2nd and final year to play Juco football, but since his NCAA clock started in fall 2009, this will be his 4th year of eligibility (out of 5). So he will have 1 year to play NCAA level football, but evidently the SEC or NCAA mandate a player have at least 2 years of eligibility available to sign a financial aid agreement with a member school?

Why couldn't he graduate school in year 5(really 4 years of school), then go to grad school and use graduate eligibility to get the final year of his football eligibility? Is it 5 years from time of first enrollment no matter what? It seems to me that graduating/grad school should reset this eligibility... does it not?
