Don't know if this has been discussed yet, but apparently the University is cracking down on golf carts on Gameday.

I am sure there will be some people that will be pissed at this, but I think this is a good move because it was starting to become an epicdemic in recent years with the number of people driving these things in the Junction and the surrounding streetbefore and after games.

Theres nothing worse than a golf cart whizzing by your tent driven by an 11 year old.

All that pretty much read like "stop driving your golf carts around where people walk and stay off the grass." I like it.

The university is forced to ban them completely. I watched one dad in a tailgate group turn his 12 year old son loose to drive across campus and make runs to their house and wondered wtf he's thinking. He thought it was funny. People like him will 17 it up for everyone.

andshould be allowed, for them!

As long as we are dealing with complaints, RE: tailgating...Generators that are way too noisy should be Banned! Doesn't happen often, but occasionally.

but golf carts aren't banned... but 12 year olds driving them like race cars through the junction where thousands of people are tailgating are. None of the above rules are at all unfair in my opinion. Possessing a valid drivers licence and driving them in designated areas is not unfair or over the top. <div>

that ban?

I'm not usually fond of a gas grill but it is definitely easier for a tailgate if you have limited time like a 12:30pm game.

Some schools ban charcoal usage because the fire can't be put out as easily as a gas tank.

damn terrorists

No kidding on the banning of loud generators. I can't tell you how many times I've had someone come and set up next to me with a generator that's so loud my guests and I can barely hear each other speak. I'm constantly amazed at how inconsiderate some people are, and I've been in more than a few arguments with some of these inconsiderate sobs.<div>
</div><div>The worst was last year when a group came in after we had set up near the depot and set up their own tent about 30 feet away from us. They then decided it was perfectly acceptable to put their loud and hot generator within six feet of our tent (where we had six kids who were under 5 years old) while running an extension cord the remaining twenty-five or so feet to where they had set up. After several "discussions" they finally moved the generator to about 10 feet away from their tent. It was still so freaking loud we had to yell all afternoon. My wife did a fine job keeping me from going over and pouring water into their tank when all of them left to go to the game.</div><div>
</div><div>So I definitely think loud and obnoxious generators should be outlawed. If not then at least require them to place a padded box over them to muffle the noise, and then require them to place it right in the very middle of their tent.</div>
