but why are they practicing in them? Seems like they would want them nice and fresh looking for the game instead of getting them marked up from practice.

we played in helmets with black facemasks and switched to white ones without practicing in them and none of our receivers could catch a cold that night. After two weeks they were a lot better. Coach said it must have been the difference in facemask color

You guys are not as smart as I sometimes think some of you are.

For all of the guys that say "its not traditional" or I think we should just grind it out and not worry about what we are wearing. I would bet good money that you are over 40. I am sure all that you complain during recruiting as well. Lets be honest, we have ahistorically losing team, and a small stadium in the SEC. Why in the world would you think that us being traditional is a good idea or is working?

Also, for those of you that just play on the internet and nothing else, the practice helmets do not have stickers on them. This isnt high school from 50 years ago where you only get one helmet.

Matte with white facemask, white jersey, and white pants would look killer. The only thing that would make it better is the baseball logo.

I asked a friend of mine that is on the team and he said that these are in fact new helmets that are matte maroon with white facemask that will be worn this weekend.

Also said there may be more surprise to come on gameday.
They got new white cleats to go with them too. James Carmon tweeted a picture of the cleats the other day.

the all white unis with maroon helmets look good.....like LSU 09.....

things that can die with our unis:

maroon pants (either home or away)
white helmets
black jerseys

The new cleats/helmets are part of the tech fit uniforms (adidas version of pro combat) if you haven't see tech fit jerseys look them up. When they aren't on pads they are about the size of a adult small t shirt then stretch when they get on the pads (they make the players like .67% faster and are incredibly light)
