That '86 Tennessee game is the first State game I can remember watching on television. Everyone should watch these before the fun police make them disappear.

i could see myself in the front row of that 1991 game. i remember smoke was about as bad at free throws as shaq, so him sending it to OT was an extra kick.

any chance you can find the 4OT game with us/them? i don't recall being any more tired as a fan than i was after that game.

I've asked our TV Center for that game and they said they didn't have it.

For what it's worth, they also said they only had 3 football games prior to 1980. I was very disappointed to hear that.

I think Cameron Burns was somethig like a 48% FT guy that year. I still say the LSU game in Starkville that same year where we clinched the SEC was the best atmosphere in any sport we have ever had at MSU. You young guys have no idea how starved were were for even a sniff ofa title of any kind in one of the two big NCAA sports.

There is so much truth to all of this. Profound truth...

Great job with those. I was at the UT game in 1994 because my Mom wanted to see Archie's son. We all went home happy that day.

I just bought DVD's of the '40 win at Tuscaloosa, '41 Orange Bowl, and '42 loss at Tuscaloosa. off eBay. Surely my personal collection isn't as extensive as theirs.

Breaking Helton's leg and all so that he got to start that season. Obviously, Payton would have been successful, but we only helped him add to the legend, lol.

1994 football...now that was a talented team. It is ashamed they could not hold on to defeat Alabama that year. That was a heavy weight fight.

Yeah, what SHS said on 91 basketball. That year was the very begining of the basketball program we have today.

in the student section....still in high school junior I think. That student section was a complete nut house when we scored there on 4th down. My buddy got hit in the side of the face with pizza. That game was classic.

He sent me some copies and I traded them with others. Guess someone is making money off them now.

The TV Center told me that they had 3 games prior to 1980 - all from 1961. Pretty disappointing.

Peyton was already playing some before we played them. They started out 1-3 that year or something like that, and I guess UT should be the one thanking us because we ended their QB controversey and they ended up winning 7-8 games.

That was the first Egg Bowl televised. The Mississippi State University beat the University of Ole Miss 20-17, for their first win over the (then) Rebels in 18 years and the first ever over Johnny Vaught.

during the kick off with :22 left in the '63 game. It's at 3:32 on the clip. I stopped it several times and counted, and sure enough. Auburn had 11. Just interesting. Total Mississippi State thing to do. Great work Sparky.

+1, but I was so glad that I stayed for the whole thing (there weren't many of us left, IIRC).

Thanks for posting these, and I'll just agree that the win over LSU to clinch was bedlam, total bedlam. And it was good.

Can't help but notice the near complete absence of cowbell noise in the audio.[*]I forgot about the clutch reception by Moulds earlier in the drive. He was soooooo good. We haven't had another one like him.[/list]

Great job with these videos. Keep 'em coming!
